Fill out Eagle Scout Application Form Obtain the most current application formavailable from the Council Website athttp://adv.counciltraining.net/LifetoEagle.html All dates must be correct Complete requirements as specified2. Complete Eagle Scout Service Project(use Workbook 2011 White Cover version at the link above)3. Requirement #1 –Be ActiveBe active in your troop, team, ship orcrew for a period of at least six (6)months after you earned the rank ofLife Scout. See Guide to Advancement section 4.2.3.1. REQUIREMENT #4 –Position ofResponsibilityWhile a Life Scout, serve actively for a periodof six (6) months in one or more qualifiedpositions of responsibility. List only thosepositions served after your Life Board ofReview date.Note: The Eagle rank does not accept a Unit Leader created position ofleadership (i.g.: Den Chief Trainer, Physicians Aid, Record Keeper, Etc.) onlythose clearly indicated in the handbook and on the Eagle Scout Applicationare acceptable. Serve Actively in your Position of Responsibility Time carried on the unit records in the position isall that may be required. Scout does not have to hold one position for six (6)months. Scout does not have to hold the position for six (6)consecutive months. Performance in the Position of Responsibility A Scout may not be held to an extraordinary standardof performance. The standard of performance used to measure thisrequirement shall be the same as that applied to otherStar, Life or Eagle Scout candidates. No unit may set a standard of performance other thantime in position. If no unit expectations are given to Scout, an he makesa reasonable effort to perform for the specified time, theScout fulfills this requirement. Requirement #6 –Unit Leader Conference Take part in a Unit Leader conference with yourUnit Leader. A Unit Leader conference is a positive experience,the objective of which is to help a Scout evaluatehis accomplishments and set new goals. Unit Leader Conference(continued) A Unit Leader conference may be conducted at therequest of an Eagle Scout candidate, or be initiatedby the Unit Leader. When there is a reason to believe that an EagleScout candidate will not be qualified to achieve theEagle Scout award within the six month periodprior to his eighteenth birthday, the unit leader isobligated to initiate a counseling session, on atimely basis, so as to give the Eagle Scoutcandidate every reasonable opportunity to becomequalified.01/09/12 7:30 PMOrange County CouncilAdvancement Committee29

If you think you are not being treated fairly orthat you are being held to extraordinarystandards, contact the District AdvancementChairperson or the District Chairperson.
