A thought from ourChapter DirectorsOur 25th Anniversary Celebration & Charity Fundraiser has come & goneand I hope everyone that attended had a good time. The weather playedgames with us all day and that had an effect on our turn out. There were afew bikes that made the trip and that shows the dedication GWRRA membershave. An event like this is not an easy task and it took the efforts of the entireChapter to pull it off. We really appreciate everyone's help!!! I am still catchingup on all of the paperwork I put off the last couple of weeks getting ready forthe rally so I am going to make this a short article. Keep an eye on thewebsite www.suncoastwings.com for updates and pictures!! Till Next Month.Rich & Lucy SchaadChapter Directors2

PR News!!!Well, by the time your read this, our great 25th Anniversary Celebration will bea success story and history. We certainly hope you came and were a part of thisspecial time in FL 1 M’s lifetime celebration.Gene & I want to especially “Thank” everyone for supporting us and the chapterthese last few years while were PR Coordinators. It has been a great ride and it isnow time to give someone else the position. The parades got the chapter a lot ofpublicity, and the smiles on children’s faces, the oo’s & ah’s as we went down aparade route were truly wonderful to hear.We also did an outstanding community service the 2 years we cleaned up our 2mile stretch of highway along the Memorial causeway. Our contract ran out lastyear and we chose not to renew it due to member’s requests. We will findsomething else to fill that spot.Let’s keep up the good work by supporting the other chapters, riding lots, enjoying our friends in the chapter and most of all having FUN!!!Remember to check the website weekly to get the most up to date info and times.www.suncoastwings.comBarb/Gene Henry, Public Relations Coordinators3

Miscellaneous ItemsAnother month and I am late for the newsletter again! This seems to be getting worse, but most of you know that our minds have not been on writing an article lately. Our 25th anniversary party is over and I would like to take this opportunity to thankeveryone who purchased tickets. Special thanks need given to Joyce Hartley, Evona Pawlik,Duane & Margie Straw, and finally Kathy. These individuals were the primary sellers for theRider Education raffle and they raised 920.00. The amount of money raised was such a largeamount do to the efforts of Rich Schaad in obtaining a large number of donations. Several ofour members also provided donations and we are greatly appreciative of all of these.Kathy & I have not been doing any riding lately due to health issues. Things are lookingbetter and we should be able to be more active again. We have announced that Ken & Sue Stagner have been appointed as the Assistant RideEducators for our chapter. Ken is an MSF instructor and will be an asset in helping us with ourriding skills. I want to note that Ken cannot speak to us as an MSF instructor (his certificatedoes not permit to do this except while teaching), but he can help us as a friend. Be sure andkeep this in mind so that we don’t ask Ken to do something he is not permitted to do.The result from the CD conference tells us that we need to update everyone’s educationrecords. We will be approaching everyone so that we can have the correct dates for your ERC,First Aid, and CPR. There is no longer a requirement for us to renew at our levels, however thisdoes not mean that we shouldn’t keep our records straight. This is also a good time for anyonewho wants to update their High Mileage or Safe Miles. If you don’t know the difference inthese, then you can ask and I will explain to the best of my ability.Another item that was mentioned was that Florida only has about 46% or our ridersenrolled in the levels program. We normally run between 90 and 100% in our chapter, depending on when we get the new members enrolled. I have started talking to the ones who arenot on my list to have them enroll now.Don’t forget to buy some Rider Education raffle tickets for your chance to win a 2007Gold Wing next month. I only have two books left, but both Rich and Jim Kerry have booksleft. We typically were selling 1,200 books per year, but we increased this to 1,500 books thisyear. I think we still have 300 – 400 books left to sell and we need to sell these or turn them into Joe now. You can help by selling some for them, or even buying some more for yourself.Ron & Kathy Jackson - Senior Chapter Educators4
