NRA MARKSMANSHIPQUALIFICATIONPROGRAMThe NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program is askill development program. It has been the flagshipof NRA’s training development programs since1903. The program can be administrated by parents,club leaders, coaches or instructors. Individualswho are not involved in an organized club can alsoparticipate in the program using the courses of fireas a development tool. Qualification shooting can beconducted on any appropriate range, even a homerange where applicable and courses of fire are opento everyone—men, women, and youth.From a young shooter’s first BB gun tosophisticated air rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders,pistols and rifles, the NRA MarksmanshipQualification Program offers shooters a self-pacedtraining platform to develop their shooting skills. It’sa drill. We set the standards and you meet thechallenge! Progression is self-paced and scores arechallenging but attainable. Performance is measuredagainst established par scores and any participantwho meets or exceeds those scores is entitled to thecorresponding recognition awards for that rating.Take your shooting skills to the next level andchallenge yourself in the NRA MarksmanshipQualification Program today!By the time a shooter completes the DistinguishedExpert rating in rifle, pistol, shotgun and multi-gun,they have attained a proficiency level paralleling thatof a competitively classified Sharpshooter.Based on the honor system, participants acquire thelarge discipline patch at the onset of the program and,as each rating is earned, they are entitled to all of thecorresponding awards for that rating. The concentration skillsrequired will be of great value if you decide to moveon to action pistol shooting.
