IntroductionThis report provides a summarization of the graduate medical education outcomes for the TouroCollege of Osteopathic Medicine – Middletown campus (TouroCOM-Middletown) beginningwith the Graduates of Academic Year 2017-2018 to the current Graduates of Academic Year 20192020.Mission StatementThe Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine is committed to training osteopathic physicians witha particular emphasis on practicing medicine in underserved communities, and to increasing thenumber of underrepresented minorities in medicine.We value and support public service, research, graduate medical education, and osteopathicclinical service in the community that will strive to improve health outcomes for those we serve.We will work to educate students through the use of the latest innovative education techniquesusing summative and formative measures so as to graduate qualified osteopathic physicians.Goals1. Graduate qualified osteopathic physicians2. Promote the practice of medicine in underserved areas3. Increase the number of underrepresented in medicine (URM) physicians4. Improve health outcomes in the community through public service, research,osteopathic clinical service, and graduate medical education.The TouroCOM Mission and Goals can be found on the TouroCOM sion--vision/MethodologyThe number of graduates is inclusive of all students that have met the requirements of graduationand are deemed eligible to participate in Graduate Medical Education (GME) by the COM and asapproved by the Registrar. The cohort of graduates is defined as those that meet the graduationrequirements during the academic year (AY) running from July 1 to June 30 of the given academicyear.The number of graduates not seeking GME is inclusive of those students who did not participatein the match process.Final placement numbers are as issued from the match reports provided by each match system (theAOA, NRMP, Military, and Other). Match placements are inclusive of those occurring during thegiven academic year as well as those occurring in subsequent match years. The final match rate iscalculated by dividing the number of successfully placed students by the number seeking GME.Residency positions available in the NYCOMEC OPTI are as reported on the OPTI websitewww.nycomec.org.The list of matched programs is provided alphabetically by specialty for the Graduates ofAcademic Year 2019-2020.TouroCOM-Middletown 2020 GME Accountability Report3

Residencies, Internships, and Fellowships in the NYCOMEC OPTITouroCOM is a member of the Osteopathic Postdoctoral Training Institution (OPTI) – the NewYork Colleges of Osteopathic Medical Education Consortium (NYCOMEC). NYCOMEC is aneducational consortium whose membership includes hospitals, skilled-nursing facilities,ambulatory care centers and four medical school sites. NYCOMEC’s services range from fulloversight and support of GME programs to select services that augment curriculum and ensurefaculty reach their maximum potential.Available GME positions within the NYCOMEC network can be found within each of theprograms listed below under their designated specialties; each specialty is linked to a page withmore detailed information for prospective students.
