Johnson, Jr.Scholarship Program Recipients*Gueter Aurelien, Microsoft CorporationUniversity of Miami School of LawGueter Aurelien graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in political science.After graduation, Aurelien returned to her parent’s homeland of Haiti and establishedB.O.F. Paradise Academy, an elementary school that has educated over 1,100 leadersof Haiti’s future. Aurelien has recently earned a master’s in accounting from FloridaAtlantic University, where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi. Through her variousexperiences both in the United States and abroad, she has developed a passion for theinteraction of law and the progression of society. Aurelien is currently a law student atthe University of Miami School of Law, and she is interested in international, corporateand tax law. She is also a proud mother of two daughters, Solange and Lioness.Adlah Chisti, Serengeti LawUniversity of California, Hastings College of the LawAdlah Chisti graduated with a M.A. in education and graduated cum laude with a B.S. inenvironmental science and B.A. in political science, with minors in general business andlegal studies from the University of San Francisco. Born and raised in San Francisco ofa Muslim and Indian background, Chisti became interested in bridging environmentalwith educational resources in urban communities. She has worked with the AimHigh Headlands Environmental Home outdoor educational program for urban youth.Currently, she is a law student at the University of California, Hastings College of theLaw and is interested in pursuing environmental and international business law.Adrienne de la Rosa, Zelle Hofmann Voelbel & Mason LLPUniversity of Notre Dame Law SchoolAdrienne de la Rosa graduated magna cum laude in 2003 from the University ofNotre Dame with a B.B.A. in marketing and Japanese and a certificate in internationalbusiness. As a first-generation Filipina-American, de la Rosa has been deeplycommitted to leading diversity initiatives in the university setting and throughout herroles in corporate America. Most recently, she served as a board member of the PanAsian Waves Associate Resource Group at The Home Depot headquarters. She has hadthe opportunity to live and work overseas, namely in Beijing, China, and Monterrey,Mexico. She would like to combine her world view, corporate sales and marketingexperience, and legal education to carve her career in international corporate law.de la Rosa is a law student at Notre Dame Law School.

2010Kelsey Eaton, Bartlitt Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott, LLPUniversity of Arkansas School of LawKelsey Eaton graduated with a B.B.A. in finance and a minor in Chinese in 2009from Southern Methodist University. She spent the academic year of 2009-2010volunteering for a local church, which gave her access to various nonprofit programsthroughout Northwest Arkansas. This experience compelled her to attend law schoolin an effort to aid the elimination of hunger within her community. As a memberof the Delaware Tribe of Indians, she is aware of the impact of hunger on minoritycommunities and is interested in creating a system to connect corporations with localnonprofits and increasing social responsibility. Eaton is currently a law student at theUniversity of Arkansas School of Law.Donale Evans, Walmart Stores, Inc.Thurgood Marshall School of LawDonale Evans graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 2005 with a B.A. inbusiness finance and a minor in management information systems. Evans overcamenumerous obstacles to become the first person in his family to attend college andgraduate school. His interest in law arose while he was employed in the contracts &pricing department at The Boeing Company. Evans currently is a student at ThurgoodMarshall School of Law. He is interested in providing counsel in areas of employment,corporate, and contract law, and serving as an example to people who come fromsimilar circumstances.TaCara Harris, Arnold & Porter LLPVanderbilt University Law SchoolTaCara Harris graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in sociology and a B.A. inwomen’s and gender studies from Vanderbilt University. Growing up as an Army brat,Harris has traveled through over half the United States, including a two-year residencyin Alaska. Her diverse socio-cultural background has greatly shaped her perspectivesof the world and appreciation of the rich dimensions of differences amongstindividuals. Currently pursuing her law degree at Vanderbilt University Law School,Harris is committed to selfless service and the advocacy of human rights. She hopesto practice in the field of health law by addressing legal issues surrounding healthcare disparities amongst underrepresented populations and discrimination within thehealth care system.

William Hudson, Kilpatrick Stockton LLP2010Emory University School of LawWilliam Hudson graduated with a B.A. in English from The University of SouthernMississippi in 2010. A native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, Hudson has been involvedin immigrant’s rights issues. As an undergraduate, Hudson was involved with TheLuckyday Foundation Citizen Scholars Program, a scholarship program that emphasizescommunity service based learning and encourages lifelong civic engagement. Heaspires to pursue a career in corporate or international law while volunteering his timeto pro bono work benefitting underserved communities. He is a student at EmoryUniversity of Law.Chanel Lattimer-Tingan, Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLPUniversity of Pennsylvania School of LawChanel Lattimer-Tingan is currently a law student at the University of PennsylvaniaSchool of Law. She is the first in her family to obtain a graduate degree and will bethe first to receive a law degree. Lattimer-Tingan graduated cum laude from PrincetonUniversity with a B.A. in sociology and a certificate in African-American studies and thenearned her M.S. in sport management from the University of Tennessee. She plans tocombine her legal education with her background and research in sports to pursue acareer in intellectual property. Eventually, Lattimer-Tingan hopes to serve as generalcounsel for the U.S. Olympic Committee and create more opportunities for minorityfemales to participate and work in sports. She is committed to continued communityinvolvement through pro-bono work and mentoring.Atticus Lee, TerpSysUniversity of California, Davis School of LawAtticus Lee graduated with a B.A. in human biology and a minor in English (creativewriting emphasis) in June 2010 from Stanford University. Lee is a first-generationimmigrant from Taiwan, where her grandmother fled to save her progeny from thecombined persecution of foot-binding and the civil war in mainland China. Lee is vastlyinterested in the intersections of queer identity and Asian-American perspectives,and one day hopes to practice law in the San Francisco Bay Area in advocacy of queerrights legislation. She is currently a law student at the University of California, DavisSchool of Law.

2010Bryan Lee, Robert Half LegalUniversity of California, Los Angeles School of LawBryan Lee graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in East Asian languages andcultures. He speaks Korean, Mandarin Chinese and Japanese. He is the first in his familyto attend college and law school in the United States. Before attending law school,Lee worked on voting rights issues on behalf of Asian Americans. He is interested inpursuing a career in civil lights litigation and is currently a student at University ofCalifornia, Los Angeles School of Law.Nicholas Meza, Day Pitney LLPSandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State UniversityNicholas Meza graduated with a B.S. in community health education and earned amaster’s in public health policy and management from the University of Arizona. Heserved as an EXPORT Fellow at the University of Arizona’s Center for Health Equality.His work with disparate populations in Mexico and the Southwest in the area of cancerprevention has inspired him to study the intersection between law, public policy andpublic health. Meza plans to pursue a career in the field of health law, immigration law,or biotech intellectual property. He is currently a student at the Sandra Day O’ConnorCollege of Law at Arizona State University.Jill Mitchell, Microsoft CorporationUniversity of Kansas School of LawJill Mitchell graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in criminal justice in 2010 fromWichita State University. After her mother passed away, her family struggled to makeends meet. She knew the path to a better life was to do well in school and pursue highereducation. Even after being placed in an orphanage, two foster homes and living onher own, she graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. During college sheworked at a law firm in Wichita and her experience led her to pursue a career in law.Mitchell is a law student at the University of Kansas School of Law.

2010Jason Sanchez, Microsoft CorporationUniversity of Texas at Austin School of LawJason Sanchez graduated magna cum laude from Abilene Christian University with aB.A. in political science. Sanchez is the son of a Mexican immigrant and a first-generationhigh school graduate, college graduate and law student. After discovering a passion forinternational travel during a semester abroad, he hopes to work in the field of internationallaw. Sanchez is a law student at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.Malcolm Wells, Nixon Peabody LLPFordham Law SchoolMalcolm Wells graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in computerengineering in 2009. After graduating, Wells worked at Raytheon as a software engineerwhere he assisted in software development and maintenance of the NASA Earth ScienceData and Information System. He is a student at Fordham Law School and is interested inharnessing his engineering background to promote an ethical and technical presencewithin the evolution of intellectual property law. His interest in intellectual propertywas sparked by the intricate relationships between science, technology and society.Brittney Williams, Baker & McKenzie LLPUniversity of California, Los Angeles School of LawBrittney Williams is a student at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.In May of 2009, she graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with aB.B.A. in business marketing and a B.S. in communication studies, with a concentrationin political communication. Williams also studied abroad at the ESCP-EAP EuropeanSchool of Management in Paris, France, where she studied international marketing.She is a native of Houston, Texas, where she was raised by her mother in a single-parenthousehold. As a youth, she often volunteered with her mother at the local recreationcenter in the neighborhood. Williams remains active in her community today bytutoring and serving as a mentor to the underprivileged youth in the school systems inher community. She is the first in her family to pursue a professional degree.
