General informationCourse descriptionThe Kentucky Children’s Hospital Contemporary Pediatrics conference isdesigned to provide current information on a variety of medical and surgicalconditions affecting infants, children and adolescents. Outstanding pediatricspecialists of Kentucky Children’s Hospital will offer presentations andconcurrent sessions on a variety of topics.Course learning objectivesUpon conclusion of this educational activity, you will be able to: Discuss the management of behavioral disorders in children. Describe ways to address the impact of media on children in a busy practice. Review updates on the following pediatrics issues:- Circumcision.- Sleep disorders.- Reflux in neonates.- Hypertension.- Bronchiolitis.- Pediatric surgical conditions.- New pediatric medications. Analyze how to interpret ECG in an organized fashion. Manage the health care of children with signs of abuse such as sex traffickingor abusive head trauma. Major topics to be addressed include pediatricassessment, pediatric airway, central nervous system, medical emergencies,cardiovascular system and trauma. Skill stations on advanced-airway andadvanced-trauma procedures will be included. Limited to 10 registrants.Although this course is designed for physicians, other disciplines areencouraged to attend.
