It is the largest health system in Kentucky, has been recognized as a top100 integrated health system by Verispan and as a national leader in transparency. In this role I have had accountability for thevehicle that drives education, clinical competency, school of nursing collaborations, nursing research, workforce development,and community outreach. Developed the Norton Healthcare Institute for Nursing with four centers: Nursing Research, Nursing Development,Nursing Practice and Nursing Outreach. Deployed singular standard Nursing orientation, Perioperative, Critical Care,ED and Medical/Surgical program for the system. Deployed scholar program for system that reduced first year RNturnover to less than 5.0% and with a greater than 86.4% retention rate after five years. Recognized as a Center ofExcellence in Nursing Education by the National League for Nursing (NLN) in 2013, re-designated in 2017 with theaddition of a fifth center of excellence focusing on innovation. Assisted and fostered a partnership with the University of Kentucky, College of Nursing to prepare and educate 150 NHCBSN employees to become DNP’s (leadership) and DNP with APRN credentials over next seven years to serve in theNorton Medical Group (primary and specialty practice) and within the acute care and continuum management areas ofNHC. Invested of 7.5M over seven years to graduate DNP/APRNs. To date 99 have graduated from this program. Developed the first registered Student Nurse Apprenticeship Program, (SNAP) in 2016, with a total 799 total applicantsranging from ages 20-41 years of age.
