High School Terms to Know ACT – American College Testing –alternateadmissions assessment to the SAT. AP Course – Advanced Placement courseearning the student high school and collegecredit and 2 extra “quality points” for the finalgrade earned. Blackboard-teacher communication site. Block Schedule – 84-90 minute class period for onesemester. Students take 4 courses in fall term & 4 new courses inthe spring term. All classes cover 1 year of material in 1semester. How To Register for 9th Grade?Mrs. Guinn, 8th grade Counselor is coming in to all 1st period classesuntil Thursday, April 7th. A paper Registration Sheet will be senthome for parents to go over with them and Sign, this must bereturned to their 1st period Teacher the next day. Rewards will begiven to those with the parent signature. All students will register for 9th grade on Powerschool. Studentswill use their powerschool username and password. Theirusername is their student id number or lunch number. If thepassword needs to be reset, this must be done in Student Services,let your 1st period Teacher know, they will email Mrs. Guinn, ourData Manager, Ms. West will reset it and it will be emailed toyour 1st period Teacher to give to the student.
