CardiologyBurns UnitThe Concord Burns Unit is one of three campuses thattogether form the NSW Severe Burns Injury Service.The Unit comprises ten inpatient beds with a dedicatedburns theatre and recovery. The Burns Ambulatory CareClinic provides a service five days per week managingminor burn wounds and post discharge wound care. TheSkin Lab onsite cultures patient’s skin cells forassistance in wound healing and skin regeneration ofcomplex patients. Our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)approach is paramount in achieving optimal outcomes forburns patients and collaborates closely with specialitiessuch as the Acute Pain Service (ACP), Chronic PainService (CPS), Infectious Diseases (ID), Gerontology,Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED),Endocrinology and Rehabilitation. The Burns Unit alsohas a close relationship with the ANZAC Instituteundertaking research projects onsite. The Burn ScarClinic is a specialised treatment clinic within the BurnsUnit of Concord Repatriation General Hospital. It wasestablished in early 2015 to specifically address themultifaceted treatments required for the long termmanagement of burn victims.
