In 2018, she wasalso the youngest woman (at age 29) elected to theSanta Maria City Council and only the sixth woman tohold a seat on that body.Born and raised in Santa Maria, Gloria attendedPioneer Valley High School, earned her associates’degree at Allan Hancock College, and completed herB.A. at Chapman University. She is the daughter ofimmigrant farm-workers, and she took full advantageof the education and opportunities afforded to her byher family and community. She is a past participantof Future Farmers of America and an alumna ofFuture Leaders of America.As a local nonprofit leader, Gloria served at theCentral Coast Literacy Council and various rolesat Planned Parenthood California Central Coast(PPCCC), including education, public affairs, andfundraising.
