Program InformationTarget Audience This meeting is designed for anesthesiologistsin Chair, Core Program Director, SubspecialtyProgram Director and Program Administratorpositions. Members may invite physician andnon-physician guests for whom separateregistration rates are available. The programis designed to present and discuss areas oftopical interest to attendees in keeping withour collective attempt to improve academicdepartment’s structure, function and theeducational programs associated withacademic learning.About This Meeting Topics for this meeting were selected byvarious methods. Suggestions for topics werederived from evaluations of the 2018 and otherprevious Annual Meetings, Council members,the membership at large and reviews of thepublished literature with the highest impact onthe anesthesia specialty. These suggestionswere discussed by our authorities in the field ofanesthesia education or previous meetings.The purpose of this Annual Meeting is toeducate and share information that will enableacademic anesthesiology departments toimprove management and care.This Meeting Will Provide: Institutional resources to support theeducational, research and clinical missionsessential to the day to day managementof a successful academic anesthesiologydepartment. Solutions to challenges in educating thenext generation of trainees on issuesof interpersonal communication skills,professionalism and systems-basedpractice. Ideas to design new modalities to incentivizetheir faculty to become best performers infulfilling the educational and/or researchmissions of a successful anesthesiologydepartment.Registration The registration fee for the SAAAPM 2019Annual Meeting includes the course syllabus,all educational presentations, continentalbreakfasts, coffee breaks and Fridayreception. There is a separate fee for lunches.Registrations that are either faxed, mailed, ormade via the Web site to the SAAAPM officemust be received by October 7, 2019. AfterOctober 7, 2019, late registration fees will beapplied. Your registration fee is separate fromthe departmental membership dues that mustbe paid each year.
