SAFETY SECURITYIn the event you discover or suspect a fire:Once in the stairwell, walk down holding onto the handrail for support. If you encounter heavier smoke, DO NOT WALKActivate the nearest pull station. These are locatedadjacent to all stairwells. Call the emergency number(“0”) located on your phone and report the locationof the smoke or fire. Proceed to evacuate the area byfollowing the escape procedures. Always familiarize yourself with the location of thenearest fire exit stairs after check-in. Collect your room key, as re-entry may be necessary. Feel the entrance door to your room with the back ofyour hand. If it is warm or hot, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR.Use the passive escape technique outlined below.THROUGH IT. Walk upstairs until you see a smoke-freecorridor. Find an alternate emergency exit from the corridorand commence walking downstairs. If you encounter smokein a corridor, stoop or crawl to the exit – it is cooler and thereis less smoke at the floor level.Proceed to the parking lot behind the hotel or whereverinstructed to assemble.Remaining in Your RoomIf there is a fire and you cannot leave your room, eitherbecause you see smoke leaking into your room from thecorridor or if the front door is hot to the touch, stay in roomIf there is a little smoke and no fire visible, take a toweland please follow the below procedures:and wet it. Take the towel and place it over your mouth and your locationnose and exit the room, closing the door behind you.
