WHAT’S ONIN AUTUMNFOR KIDS & TEENSINCLUDING SCHOOL HOLIDAYSInspiring spaces where everyoneis free to discover possibilitiesccl.vic.gov.au1 MARCH – 31 MAY 2021

GREETINGSIt is so good to see people back in ourlibraries again. If there is anything we have learned overthe last 12 months, it is that a library withoutpeople is no more than a repository of books.Don’t get me wrong, you cannot have a librarywithout books, but it is people who bring libraries to life. The team at Casey Cardinia Libraries (CCL) have been working hard over the lastfew weeks as we return services back to some sense of normality. We are verymuch looking forward to resuming normal opening hours from the beginning ofFebruary and delivering programs where we get to see you in person. One of the challenges we face in the coming months is finding ways tomaintain some of the new services we established during lockdown whileoffering a full suite of services from the branch. The latest community surveytold us very clearly that people appreciate the Click and Collect service,Online Programs and the Home Delivery Service.86% of respondents to our most recent community survey said that theyaccess the library branch closest to them. Our data also tells us that you aremore likely to be a library member if you have a library within easy travellingdistance. We feel a moral responsibility to provide an equitable service to all residentsof Casey and Cardinia. To that end we will keep working on a blendedapproach with physical and digital resources and programming for as longas we can.So read on and enjoy the latest offerings from the team at CCL. We have somany great kids/teens and adult events for the community this season.Kind RegardsChris BuckinghamChief Executive OfficerCasey Cardinia LibrariesPS Don’t forget that bookings are essential to all events!(Except babies under 12 months).

SUPPORT OUR BOOK DELIVERY SERVICEHelp us continue our free book deliveries and outreachservices to community in need.During this pandemic, we’ve all experienced what it’s like to beisolated – we’ve known fear, boredom and loneliness. Imagine howeverif this was your daily life even without the threat of COVID-19.For many people in our community, this is what life is always like. Sadly, in Casey Cardinia, there are many older or vulnerable people who are unable to leave their homes. Worse, they may be unable to afford internet, e-readers and computers to help the time pass andconnect to others. With your support, these people can feel less alone. 30 will provide 3 deliveries to someone unable to leave their house. 50 will provide 5 deliveries to an isolated older person. 100 will enable the library to delivery a digital program to help people connect tonew ideas and each other. 500 will allow the library to lend a PC or laptop to a person in need for 6 months. At Casey Cardinia Libraries, we use the GiveEasy platform so your donations are secure. We will also send a receipt straight to your email. All donations over 2 are tax-deductible.Donate using Credit Card, PayPal or call us on 1800 577 548 and we can help you over the phone.Go to ery-service/ to donate now!29ccl.vic.gov.au
