2. A GREAT SIGN v. 1The word “SIGN” is the Greek word SEMEION, and it is usedsome 77 times in the New Testament and generally means “anobject set forth, or action done to accredit a person, or anutterance.”An example of this would be the miracles that the Lord did inHis earthly ministry—as in JOHN 20:30-31.SO FIRST OF ALL, WE MUST IDENTIFY WHO THIS WOMAN IS.BIBLICAL HERMENEUTICS (Interpretation) tells us that whenGod uses a symbol to speak forth a truth, the first time it isused sets the standard for how it is used throughout theScriptures. GEN 37:1-11 is where we start.2
3. A PAINFUL BIRTH v. 2WHO DID THE NATION OF ISRAEL BRING FORTH? None other than Jesus Christ, of course.This can be documented in the genealogies of Jesus inMATTHEW 1:1-17 and LUKE 3:1-38, which links Jesus to thenation of Israel. He had Jewish blood, as HEBREWS 7:14 says,“For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah . . .”In MALACHI 4, in speaking to the nation of Israel, God saidthe Healer would come from them.TRUE HEALING IS FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST THE LORD.3
4. WHO IS BEHIND THE PERSECUTION? v. 3-4It’s not simply Rome—Islam—The EU—the Illuminati, but a “FIERY REDDRAGON” which opposes the plans of God. Total Rebellion. If you have any confusion to who this red dragon is, skip down toVERSE 9 which says,“So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Deviland Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth . . .”The word “devil,” DIABOLOS in the Greek, means slanderer. And the word “Satan,” SATANAS in the Greek, means adversary oropponent.JOHN 8:44 tells us that this fallen angelic being was a “murderer fromthe beginning.” Satan is behind all evil—including the New WorldOrder.4
5. THE STARS AND THE DRAGON’S TAILWe are told in EZEKIEL 28 that Lucifer was created by God, andwas the anointed Cherub who was in charge of the heavenlyrealm. We are told in ISAIAH 14 that pride caused him to fall, andwhen he rebelled against God, he took with him 1/3 of theangelic hosts. How many angels did God create? HEBREWS 12:22 says thatthere are “. . . an innumerable company of angels.” When Jesus asked these demonic spirits what was theirname, their response was, “My name is Legion; for we aremany.” MARK 5:95
6. IT ALL BEGAN IN THE GARDENIt was after the fall of Adam and Eve that God pronounced Hisjudgment upon Satan. GENESIS 3:14-15 Thus, Satan’s line of attack has been laid out; he will try todestroy the woman’s seed. This murderous process began with Cain’s murder of Able. Satan thought seed was destroyed. Oops, Eve had anotherson, Seth, from which the Messiah was to come. Along with these stories, we find Moses, Esther, and thewhole Gospel Narrative sending the same message:Satan, you have failed!6
7. WHY IS SATAN STILL TRYING TO DESTROYTHE JEWS?I believe that it is the Jewish people who will petitionthe Lord’s return. HOSEA 5:15-6:1 Jesus said as much. MATTHEW 23:39 If Satan destroys the Jews, they will not be able topetition Christ’s return—the Messiah. WE SAW THIS IN HITLER, killing over 6 million Jewsin the Holocaust.THE MALE CHILD IN VERSE 5 IS JESUS.7
8. JESUS IS COMING BACK TO RULE v. 5In His first coming, He was born to die. But in His second coming, He is to rule the nations.ISAIAH 9:6-7 Jesus Christ is coming back to sit on the throne of Davidto rule the nations of the world with a rod of iron.PSALM 2:7-9 When Christ returns to set up His kingdom, every eye willsee Him as He returns in glory. REVELATION 1:78

In His first coming, He was born to die. But in His second coming, He is to rule the nations.
