Jesus carefully selected His disciples for the purpose of multiplying committed followers of Hisheavenly Father. (See John 15:16.) The Holy Spirit reveals God’s will and ways to us.(See I Corinthians 2:9–11.)DECISIVENESS IN MY LIFENow let’s examine some ways God wants us to liveout decisiveness daily. Will God accept my worship if I am double- minded? (See Exodus 34:14.) What will happen if I choose to reject the Lord’scounsel? What will happen if I determine to heedHis Word? (See Proverbs 1:29–33.) Do I seek wise counsel from knowledgeable peoplebefore making a decision? (See Proverbs 11:14.) Can I trust my own thinking, apart from theLord, to lead me to the right conclusions?(See Proverbs 16:25.) When making decisions, do I keep in mind thatmy body is the temple of the Holy Spirit?(See I Corinthians 6:19.) Do I surrender to the Holy Spirit’s leading ineveryday choices, or do I trust Him only for mysalvation? (See Galatians 3:2–3.) How can I learn the will and ways of God?(See II Timothy 3:16.)DECISIVENESS KEY VERSE“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask ofGod, that giveth to all men liberally, andupbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”JAMES 1:5Copyright 2018 by the Institute in Basic Life Principles · iblp.orgProverbs 2:1–6 says, “My son, if thou wilt receivemy words, and hide my commandments withthee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, andapply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criestafter knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchestfor her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understandthe fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth comethknowledge and understanding.” What a privilegeto study the rich truths of God’s Word, hide them inyour heart, and apply them to daily life!
