2THE "I AM DISCOURSES99Gentlemen, it was My great Privilege to stand unseen most of the time, pouring forth that MightyEnergy to mankind in those days —encouraging,strengthening, and sometimes appearing visibly andgiving them the Encouragement needed to go forward—for We knew that America was to be Free,and that America shall remain Free forever!This frightful, sinister thing that has its clawsupon most of the World shall not have its claws uponour America! It is the Heart of Light of the Earth;and some place, some spot on Earth must be keptclean and free, that the Powers of Light may holdTheir Dominion to spread to the rest of the World.The blood-drenched lands of Europe cannot beused; and in those centuries when I worked inFrance, England, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland,and the various parts of the country —even in theOrient — I tried every way to pour forth such a Powerof Radiation that would harmonize the people andenable them to see; yet human selfishness becamethe dominant thing within the consciousness of thepeople —I mean those who established themselves atthe heads of the government and, on the slightestpretense, would throw themselves against each otherfor no reason at all.That is why, Dear People, today without theUnderstanding of this "Mighty I AM Presence,"

DISCOURSE III3there is no hope for mankind. There is nothing bywhich they can be established and sustained in theforward activity of peace. Peace cannot come to theWorld through the intellect. Peace has to comethrough the feeling and the understanding of aPower and Presence that is God in action.God is not a religious thing; God is the Law ofLife which is beating your Heart and every humanbeing's Heart on Earth. Therefore, when mankindcome to understand that it is God giving them Life,and that God is practical in your physical world andwants you to have the Happiness, the Success, andthe Achievement that every Heart desires, then thatPower of Light that beats your Heart, called into action, will produce that Success for you —if your feeling world is kept harmonious.That is what mankind has not understood today—the need of Harmony. If this is sustained for asufficient period, the Powers of the "Presence" canflow through to do Its Perfect Work, which is Purityand Perfection.The only reason your "Presence" has not producedPerfection for you is because of inharmony in thefeeling world, which clothes that energy. You willnotice the Chart: that Ray of Light that comes intoyour head and anchors in your Heart then goes outinto your world. When that Light is clothed with

People have not known that, but that inharmony goes forth; and just when you think you haveachieved success, that quality begins to act, and theperson to whom the inharmony has gone is no longerinterested.This is how inharmony in the feelings acts. Peoplefeel discouragement, discontent, depression, or whatever quality of feeling is acting in their worlds. Itgoes forth to the individual whom you are contacting and they feel it; then you do not succeed. Whileif before you started out —and I plead with you,Gentlemen — before you start out for any businessachievement, go by yourself. Call the "Presence" tocharge you with Its Happiness —first with Its Harmony. Then say: " 'Mighty I AM Presence, go forthin your Mighty Radiance before me and harmonizethe person, place, and condition that I need to contact. " Then you will find the way prepared; thenyour success will be assured because the Powersof your "Presence" have gone forth, and the individual's "Presence" and your "Presence" are One\Therefore, all of the individuals' "Presence of God,"which beats each human Heart, want Perfection.Then if you are harmonious and you pour forthenough love and harmony to the individual or groupyou are contacting, they will feel that and they will1

DISCOURSE III5love to assist you, and that is success. If you go to aperson or group with great antagonism within you,they feel that. Nothing in the world can prevent it.That is why mankind has not achieved success.They have not understood the Laws of their being.You feel that radiation going forth before you; andif it is discordant and antagonistic, it produces thatcondition in the other individual, and you fail.The Great Law of Life, Gentlemen, is so Magnificent if understood. In those days so long ago, whenI did not understand them either —when that timecame, and after going through tremendous experiences in the human octave, the same as all mankindis going through — then I too saw that the only thingthat stood between Me and My present position inthe Light was My own feeling. That feeling thatbecame rampant and filled with anger and antagonism was the thing that had prevented My Success,and is the only thing that prevents all mankind fromhaving the Happiness and Success that is due everyone.Gentlemen, please feel that your God-Light thatbeats your Heart is the Power of all Achievement. Ifyou keep yourself harmonious enough to call thatPower forth —or shall I say first, to let it flowforth —then as you come to understand that the"Presence" is there that gives you Life, you can call

You will see how that"Presence" is the Power of the Universe and is thePower of your Achievement, no matter what it is youfix your attention upon, so long as it is constructive.Your Higher Mental Body, which is your Discriminating, Selective Intelligence, will not permit agreater Power of that to flow forth if you are going tomisuse it, because it will only cause imperfection;and It will not allow, that to go forth —only thatwhich you have accumulated.You may wonder, sometimes, how it is that menand women go forward so long doing destructivethings. There are two reasons. First, perhaps in somepast embodiment in which they have lived, they havecalled forth about their being, tremendous energy.It is charged and held there because, for the sake ofexpression, selfishness held all that energy aboutthem and did not allow it to go forth. Remember,you are the decreer of how that energy is going to actfor you when it goes forth. Therefore, they had accumulated that; then for any destructive purpose,they can only use the accumulated energy that hasbeen drawn about their bodies to produce destructive things. When that is used up, they are like aballoon without any air in it, and they cannot getmore energy again. Then they fail.

DISCOURSE III7Now then, when individuals have come to understand this "Presence," no matter what the mistakeshave been, please do not dwell upon them. If youknow you have made mistakes, call on the Law ofForgiveness. Say, " 'Beloved Mighty I AM Presence,see that I do not do it again"; and with great joyand strength, call on the Law of Forgiveness. Say:" Mighty I AM Presence, 1 call You to take command and see that I do not do these things anymore,that I do not make all these mistakes, because now Iknow that Your Intelligence is directing me, and Iabide in sufficient stillness that It can come throughand direct me!"Remember, Blessed People, that kindness is thegreatest thing in the World if you wish to achieve.No matter what someone does to you, oh, go on inthat great kindness and serenity; then the Power ofyour "Presence" can flow through and correct it. Donot ever take an arrogant attitude and strut thehuman vanity, "I shall tell you what to do!" Thenyou have antagonized, and no good can come of it.If you will remember, don't try to tell individualswhat they should do. If necessary, endeavor, if theycare to listen, to point out the Law; but never allowit to appear as a personal thing. If the human element in them is strong, they will feel antagonistic ifthey think someone is undertaking to govern them.149

8THE "I AM DISCOURSES99After all, no one has a right to do that.The only thing, Gentlemen, you are concernedwith is the Perfection of yourself and your world.There is nothing selfish about that. Then as youperfect yourself, that radiation will go out to thosewho feel that Perfect Activity; and remember, theradiation that goes out is Self-luminous, IntelligentSubstance. You do not See it with the physical sight;yet in the feeling world it is very tangible, as tangibleas any physical thing which you touch here. That iswhat mankind has not understood — that this radiation which goes out is a tangible thing to everyone.Of course, among people who have studied metaphysics, they are inclined to think they are the onlypeople that are sensitive. That is a mistake. Everybody on Earth is tremendously sensitive, more thanthey realize. They feel these things.If you understand the Law, pour out love andkindnessl I do not mean love as a sentimental thing.Love has nothing to do with sentiment. Love is Selfluminous, Intelligent Substance of the "Presence"that goes forth at your Call. But when We speak ofDivine Love, We refer to that Self-Luminous, Intelligent Substance which is Energy and Substance,which you need to draw into action to go out andperform Its Perfecting Activity in your world.Dear Ones, today in this wonderful opportunity,

Some of you whoknew that I actually appeared in the Visible, Tangible Body in Independence Hall, were a part of thatgreat Achievement. Now you are a part of thatgreater Achievement, the Victory of the Light; andby the Power and Use of the Sword of Blue Flameshall your Victory and America's be wonlGentlemen, only the night before last, the mostMagnificent, Cosmic Activity went on over yourAmerica. We feel that We have taken the Firstmighty step to that Invincible Protection of America, because of the Call of the Beloved Brothers andSisters of Light who have called so earnestly to the"Presence" for the Protection of America and theBlessing of Her people.You may not quite realize it, but I assure youthere is no thing so important in the World today asthis Protection of America, for America must beheld the Cup of Light; if not, the Light goes out forthe Earth. The Powers of Light have been called intoaction by the Achievement that has thus far been attained.Beloved Ones, the Messengers have been courageous and strong, and you who have joined in thatgreat Courage and Strength in making this Calland these Mighty Decrees, are a wonderful part of

I cannot take the time to gointo it or even give you a fragmentary idea of whatoccurred, but be assured that everything possible isbeing done for the Protection of America and thesetting free of Her people! You, Gentlemen, are thepower that can bring forth this Great Light by yourCall to the "Presence"-*-far more than you know.As the men all over America are realizing this andmaking this Call, then remember, your blessed wivesrepresent the feeling world of mankind. As you enterinto that joy and freedom and give each other freedom, then will the Power of Light descend into andthroughout the World and perform Its MagnificentService. It is so wonderful once mankind understandtheir obligation to each other and what can be donein their Call.May the Light of your "Mighty I AM Presence"flood your being and your world, take command,produce Its Perfection, hold Its Dominion there, andsend you forth the Ambassadors of Light, chargedwith the Power of Light and Radiation of your "Beloved Mighty I AM Presence" which floods yourworld with Its Harmonizing, Perfecting Activity andsets you free in the Victory of the Light — the Victorover all limitations —and the Glory of your Ascension, in the Wisdom of your "Presence"!

DISCOURSE III11Beloved Ones, it is the Law of Life. Everyone, oneday, must purify and raise the purified human forminto the Higher Mental Body and then into the Electronic Body. There, you are Free forever from thewheel of birth and rebirth —the only means in theworld by which you can be set Freel Then in thatAchievement, turn and render that great Service tothe Earth, as We are doing, until all are lifted Freeforever from the human activity of Life.When that great Service is being rendered in dissolving human creation, dissolving and consumingthe accumulation of mankind, remember, Gentlemen, the consuming of two-thirds of the humancreation of every individual who is sincere in theLight has been accomplished. Therefore the pressure of your own human creation is so much lessthat, with your earnest attention for a short time toyour "Presence" and the release of Its Mighty Energy, It floods you and your world with Its Success,Happiness, Courage, Strength, and Its Perfection. Ithank you.

D I S C O U R S EIII27PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIANovember 14, 1937Beloved Brothers of Light, for such I am going tocall all of you who have styled yourselves as MinuteMen, today I take it for granted that you realizethat expression means —I shall use one of your expressions—"on your toes," alert every moment,watching, guarding, seeing what you can do to morefully glorify yourself and your world; thus spreadingout into the activity about you the Glory of this"Presence" which waits, waits, and waits for the opportunity to release Its Powers into action for you.For remember, the only means by which the Powers of the "Presence" can find Activity is throughyour mind and body, your feeling world; and remember, your feeling world is the most important ofall, for it is your powerhouse, and your feelings doact in your world. The feeling is the most remarkable thing in all human experience! Your attention ispowerful; but your feeling is still more powerful, andis the most powerful thing in your use today—onceyou understand that you are responsible and mustconsciously direct it.

DISCOURSE III13May I offer a suggestion to you, Gentlemen? Notonly call forth the Perfecting Activity of your world,but take up a definite activity for charging thepowers of your business into action for your success.Your business is important; your outer activity is important as a means, a channel, by which you canpour forth the Powers of your "Presence" into theactivity of mankind.Now I have not said much about the Minute Men'sactivity because I was waiting to see just what, oftheir own volition, they were going to do, they weredetermined to do; but since it is sweeping overAmerica, I feel I should very definitely say something today for your encouragement and strength.If the businessmen —remember, we should notuse that word "if" — when the businessmen cometo realize in the Groups, even as you have a number here today, what you can do for yourselves andfor each other in calling forth the Powers of the"Presence" to charge Its Activity and Success intoyour business activity —I tell you, Dear People,you can do wonders for yourselves in calling the"Presence" forthl Charge It into your businessl Andthink, if you have a hundred men, if you have fivehundred, then each one has five hundred times hisown effort charged into his business world for hissuccess. Do you not see how you cannot fail in your

14THE "I AM DISCOURSES99achievement or anything upon which you direct yourattention in the outer business activity, if a groupof businessmen kept charging the Powers of the"Presence" into action for success? Of course, yourmotives must be kept all right, because if there is awrong motive, if a wrong feeling is acting, it willclothe this energy that goes forth.Remember, all that you can use of the Intelligencethat ever came forth to any human being on Earthcomes from that "Presence." You sometimes are inclined to think that you gather ideas from without,and you do; but Gentlemen, think what you are doing: You are gathering other men's ideas throughother individuals. Some are good; some are not.Now then, why not in your present understanding ofthis "Great Presence," turn to It; and each one,every night before you sleep, turn your attentionThere and ask It to give you the Perfect Ideas concerning the conducting of yourself and your business? Do you not see —within that, you would callforth the Infinite Powers of Light, Strength, Courage, and Intelligence to govern your activity of yourworld; and you could make it whatever success youchose to? There would be nothing to stand beforeyou in that activity.Then as you have your business stabilized, successfully acting, you can call the "Presence" to

You find yourself enabled to have the meansand time to have the Directing Intelligence to go outand spread this very thing among others who in theirHeart want to know of this Great Light.Sometimes there are those who, through preconceived ideas or by listening to foolish gossip orsomething like that, think This is something, shallwe say, far-fetched; but you know, Gentlemen, thatIt is not. You know that the "Presence" is the Sourceof all Life, Intelligence, and Activity. Without It, nohuman being would have freedom; no human beingwould have intelligence with which to act. No onewould have power to accomplish anything.Notice in your Call to the "Presence" —whether itis in your business, whether it is in your own Expansion of your Light, or in gathering the Powers ofAchievement —you call your "Presence" into action;and Love, Wisdom, and Power are acting in balanced form. No one point of that triangle can actseparately.If the Power of Divine Love is acting withoutWisdom and Power, it is apt to be extreme. If Wisdom is acting alone, it becomes cold and unfeelingby the human qualificatibn. If Power is there acting,it will make everyone fear you.We watched a gentleman in Washington, D.C.,

16THE "I AM DISCOURSES99many years ago, try it out. He conceived this idea ofcalling forth some one of these activities of Knowledge, and he happened to focus upon Power. In ashort time every one of his friends and associatesfaded away because they became afraid of him, because they felt this Power surging all the time as hekept gathering it.You can gather abojit you whatever force youwant to and it will act; but if it is Power, it mayeasily become destructive. If it is the Power of Love,as Divine Love, it may run into the sex activity if ungoverned by Wisdom. If Wisdom is acting alone, itmay easily become cold and unfeeling.The only Power that is the Achievement of Successin all the world of activity of mankind is Love,Wisdom, and Power in balance; and no human being can hold himself in balance without the Power ofhis "Presence" — which is your Call to the "Presence"to release Its Powers of Action in and through youand out into your world.With most, your "Presence" is acting, which isLove, Wisdom, and Power in balance. It is thegreatest thing ever on the face of this Earth for mankind, whether you wish to use It in your business,whether you
