The Image of Divine Mercy(February 22nd 1931)Jesus appeared to this humblenun bringing with Him awonderful message of Mercy forall mankind. The Feast of The Divine MercyThe FeastAs a further sign of His forgiving love. Jesus called for aFeast of His Divine Mercy to be celebrated in the wholeChurch. He said to Sister Faustina:‘I want this image to be solemnly blessed on the firstSunday after Easter: that Sunday is to be the Feast ofMercy. On that day, the depths of My Mercy will be opento all. Diary (1.341 and 1.49)Whoever will go to Confession and Holy Communion onthat day will receive complete forgiveness of sin and allpunishment. Mankind will not enjoy peace until it turnswith confidence to My Mercy ‘. The Chaplet of Divine MercyJesus said later to Blessed Faustina ‘Say unceasinglythis chaplet that 1 have taught you. Anyone who says itwill receive great Mercy at the hour of death. Priests willrecommend it to sinners as the last hope. Even the mosthardened sinner, if he recites this Chaplet even once, willreceive grace from my infinite Mercy. I want the whole worldto know My infinite Mercy. I want to give unimaginablegraces to those who trust in My Mercy’. Diary: (11.687)The Chaplet can be said on ordinary Rosary beadsI never reject a contrite heart. Your misery will disappearin the depths of my Mercy. You will give me pleasure ifyou hand over all your troubles and griefs. I will pour outupon you treasures of my grace. Oh what great graces Iwill grant people, who will recite this Chaplet. By meansof it you can ask and obtain anything, if what you ask iscompatible with my Will. I want the whole world to knowmy infinite Mercy. I want to give unimaginable graces tothose who trust in my Mercy.Unceasingly say the Chaplet that I have taught you whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour ofdeath. The 3 o’clock prayerThree o’clock in the afternoon the Hour of Great MercyA devotion most dear to Our Lord is the veneration of His Passionat the very hour that recalls His death on the Cross. Through thePassion and death of Our Lord Jesus, the very Kingdom of Godhas been opened to us. What love should fill our hearts and howwillingly we should respond to the request of Our Lord who saidto Sister Faustina:“At three o’clock implore my mercy especially for sinners; andif only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion,particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This isthe hour of great mercy for the whole world. At this hour I willrefuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue ofMy Passion. Diary: (lV.1320)I remind you. The Novena for Nine DaysJesus asked that his feast of The Divine Mercy bepreceded by a Novena to the Divine Mercy which wouldbegin on Good Friday.
