EASY TO ASSEMBLE . . . . .1Fit the back half of the 4 way tee insulationglove to the 4 way tee. Then using thread sealtape on the tapered male thread, screw the 4way tee into the cold water inlet of the waterheater.The compression fittingof the 4 way tee should faceupward.Using thread seal tape onthe tapered male thread,screw the fitting into the hotwater outlet of the waterheater with the compressionoutlet of the fitting facingdownward.Cut a length of copper tube to aminimum of 185mm (to achievea minimum centre distanceof 250mm between thehot water outlet centrelineand the tempering valvemixed outlet centreline inaccordance withAS3500.4 – 2003 clause 8.4 bHeat Traps). Fit the copper tubeinto the hot water outlet fitting andtighten the nut and olive.3Cut a length of pipe insulation45mm shorter than the coppertube and slide it onto thecopper tube. Remove the hotwater inlet fitting from theTempering valve assemblyand fit to the hot waterinlet copper tube. Tighten thenut and olive to fix in place.5Re-attach the Tempering valveto the fixed inlet fitting andmeasure the distance betweenthe cold water inlet tube stopand the Quickie 4way outlettube stop. Cut a length ofcopper tube shorter by3mm on this length.Also cut a length of pipeinsulation shorter by 45mm246Unscrew the hot waterinlet loose nut to releasethe Tempering valve bodyand also remove the coldwater inlet fitting from theTempering valve body. Fit thecopper tube into the Quickie4way outlet and tighten thenut and olive.Everything you need to plumbwww.avg.net.au
Quickievalveinsulationincluded87Slide the tempering valve back intoposition making sure the sealingwashers are in place and tightenthe loose nuts to secure. Now tightenthe cold water inlet nut and olive tocomplete the Tempering valve fitment.Ensure that all joints are tightened.Slide the cut length of pipeinsulation onto the copper tubeand loosely fit the Temperingvalve inlet fitting.Fit the NRIBVS to the Quickie4way loose nut as shown makingsure the sealing washer is in place.With the ball valve handle to thetop tighten the loose nut to seal.9NB: Some installations use anNRIPRV in place of NRIBVS asshown below.Fit the ECV to the Quickie4way loose nutas shownmaking sure the sealingwasher is in place.Withthe drain connection facingdown, tighten the loose nutto seal.10(For installations not requiringan Expansion Controlvalve, fitthe optional plug).11IMPORTANT NOTE:Flush water line beforeconnecting line tovalves to preventdamage from grit ordebris.Connect to insulated pipe atinstallation site and checkall joints for leaks.Fit the Insulation gloves asshown using the cable tiesprovided to secure in place.Position the cable locks in aninconspicuous location.12a storage hot water system quicklywww.avg.net.au
