The guide you areabout to read is our effort to ensure that our university brand identity has acommanding presence and sends a clear message that Northern ArizonaUniversity is a solid institution built for the future. Consistency acrossdepartments and media is key. In this guide, you will find the rules governingthe usage of the identity as well as fonts and colors. This guide is thorough,but there may be uses that aren’t clearly defined in these pages. IntroductionVisual Identity PolicyThe Brand Identity Guide was created to ensurethe success of Northern Arizona University’s visualidentity. A consistent and proper presentation ofthe university mark is essential for establishingidentity awareness in local, regional, national, andinternational markets.This guide addresses requirements and guidelinesfor the use of logo, color, and fonts in print anddigital formats. In addition, the university providesthe Writing Style Guide to assist with creatingcommunications that are professional, clear,and consistent. It consists of“Northern Arizona” in NAU Gold (Pantone 3514) and “University” in NAU True Blue (Pantone 281). The line breaks should appear visually balancedand the unit name should read in a logical way.2. The width of the unit name should not extendbeyond the width of the logo and the rule.3. It should be usedas the primary font for all university-wide marketing and communications when available.
