TennisUpon our grand opening in 1976, then tennis directorRoy Barth made it his mission to establish KiawahIsland Golf Resort as one of the premier tennis resortsin the nation. About our DirectorsRoy Barth, the founder ofKiawah Island Golf Resort’stop-ranked tennis program,has retired after serving asDirector of Tennis for 41years. As Director Emeritus,Roy will become no strangerto the stellar program hebuilt from the ground up,as his retirement will allow him more time to focus on hispassion: tennis instruction. Junior ProgramsBARTH-HAWTIN TENNIS ACADEMYSummer / May 26 - August 27, 2021The Barth-Hawtin Tennis Academy (BHTA) is designedfor junior players seeking success at the state, sectional andnational levels, including those preparing for college tennis.Daily sessions include match play drills, on-court conditioning,tactical training, technique assessment, mental toughness andstrategy. The BHTA is offered year-round (the daily schedulechanges in the summer). The daily sessions are two-and-a-halfhours in the morning and two-and-a-half hours in theafternoon.
