“Sports do not build character, they reveal it.”John WoodenYour time has come. You have reached a pinnacle mark in your athletic career.Make sure you celebrate this moment and reflect on the sacrifices you made toget here.Once the championship concludes, what will be your next move? Each day youwill be faced with decisions upon which the rest of your life will hinge. Acting as aperson of integrity and character will lay the ground work for a solid future, whether that future lies in athletics or elsewhere. For most student-athletescompeting in this championship, sports will be replaced with other endeavors –family, education and career – but it will be one’s character that will most definetheir success long after the crowds stop cheering.Life goes by quickly. Enjoy the championship experience with your coaches andteammates and compete to your fullest potential. You have worked hard and invested greatly to get to this stage, have the courageto allow your character direct your destiny today, and in the future. All the best,Mary Ellen LeichtExecutive DirectorPrepare.
