Important Safety Information (cont.)Pressure release methods When the programme is finished and you wish to commence pressure release press the“Cancel” button to cancel the Keep Warm function. When releasing the pressure valve, always use tongs and please wear oven gloves to turn thepressure valve to the open position. This will protect against hot steam. The valve will lift upslightly and steam will release. The lid won’t open until the steam has vented and pressure hasreleased. When opening the lid food will be hot, please always wear oven gloves and an apron to protectagainst any splashing of the hot food.Quick releaseSlow releaseRecommended for:Recommended for:Quick cooking recipes and steaming, includingvegetables and seafood.Food with skins (e.g sausages, chicken and fruit)and foods with large liquid volume or high starchcontent (such as porridge, soup, pasta, rice, fruitand grains, and also delicate foods such as meatsand potato) can trap air and cause the food tofoam and expand which may cause splashing ofhot food after the lid is removed.When the Keep Warm function has beencancelled, move the pressure release valve tothe open position and only attempt to open lidwhen all steam has released and the float valvehas dropped.Leave the pressure cooker to stand for 1 - 2minutes.Press the lid release button and open the lid, ifthe lid does not open, wait a few more minutesand try again. Neveroperate the unit near any flammablematerials such as dish towels, papertowels, curtains, paper plates, etc. CAUTION HOT SURFACE. Thisappliance generates heat andescaping steam during use. Properprecautions must be taken toprevent the risk of personal injury,fires, and damage to property. When in operation, never leave theappliance unattended. Be careful also about the risk ofscalding from the steam coming out ofthe appliance when you open the lid.First open the lid very slightly to allowthe steam to escape gently. If the silicon gasket or inner potare damaged in any way. DO NOTUSE and call customer services for areplacement. Usenatural release method instead - allowthe cooker to cool down naturally untilthe float valve drops down. This maytake between 15 and 20 minutes. LET THE FOOD SETTLE FOR ATLEAST TWO MINUTES AFTERPRESSURE RELEASE FLOAT VALVEHAS DROPPED. ALWAYS SHAKE THE UNIT SLIGHTLYAFTER THE FLOAT VALVE HASDROPPED BEFORE OPENING THELID.THE LID MUST BE CLOSED FULLYBEFORE SELECTING A PRESSUREFUNCTION.The product and its packaging have been manufactured from valuable materials that can berecycled. Recycling reduces the amount of refuse and helps to preserve the environment.Dispose of the packaging at a recycling point that sorts materials by type. The cooker features a safety temperaturecut out if the temperature rises too much,it will cut off and only start heating againwhen the temperature has returned to thenormal temperature. If this function fails the pressure cooker willcut off, it will not re-start and needs to bereplaced. Before Using For The First TimeHow to Pressure CleanBefore using your Pressure King Profor the first time, pressure clean it byfollowing the following instructions:Remove the lid, see page 13 for moreinformation and pour 2 litres of waterinto the inner pot. Using the Quick Select ButtonsTo use the quick select programbuttons, simply press one of theilluminated icons.Selecting the Cooking FunctionsTo select one of the cooking functionson the LED screen simply turn theControl Knob until the option you wantis highlighted.Important: The LED display will turn off after approximately 30seconds if no buttons are pressed. Using the Sauté FunctionIMPORTANT: Never fit the lid whenusing the sauté function. If the lid isproperly fitted in place, the SAUTÉfunction cannot be selected.Press the lid release button down(1) and turn clockwise then release.Rotate the lid clockwise as far as it willgo (2). Lift the lid upwards and off thepressure cooker (3).Plug your pressure cooker in and turnthe power on at the socket if required.Place a small amount of oil (checkrecipe) in the bottom of the inner pot.Press the SAUTÉ button, the LEDdisplay will show the remaining time.You can now adjust the temperatureand the cooking time to your likingby first pressing either the TIME orTEMPERATURE icon and then turningthe Control Knob clockwise to increaseor anti-clockwise to decrease.Press the START button to begincooking cycle. Using as a Pressure CookerImportant: Ensure inside of the pressure cooker and the inner pot areclean and free from any food debris before starting.Filling the inner potNEVER place food or liquid directlyinto the pressure cooker. Always usethe inner pot to cook food in.Remove the inner pot from yourpressure cooker and fill with theingredients required for the recipe.Place the liquid in the inner pot.Important: Do not fill the pot beyond2/3rds of its capacity.
