Unfortunately for the KJV, the fluidity and popularity ofinternational English language is causing it to be constantly evolving, and many word meaningstoday vastly differ from the English of the reformation era. Many people have preferred morereadable, modern bible substitutes, oftentimes at the expense of quality. This version should not berecognised as a translational attempt to improve on the work of the original 1611 translators, butrather classified as a reluctant update to make more understandable the archaic and obsolete wordsand grammar, so that today’s reader can understand and enjoy the word of God clearly andaccurately in the English tongue, just as our forefathers once did. We believe the KJV is the mostsuperior of all English versions based upon the Masoretic Text (MT) and Textus Receptus (TR), andvastly advanced in comparison to corrupted versions based upon Westcott & Hort/NestleAland/UBS, or Majority type texts. We believe the New King James Version, Modern EnglishVersion, and other similar MT/TR bibles contain a mixture of good and bad readings. This versionhas been designed especially to address those concerns.Updating words and grammar, not the textIn non Textus Receptus versions, the issue of having correct definitions is often overshadowed bythe massive amount of omissions in the text because of corrupted underlying manuscripts. Since theKJV 2016 translation is not dealing with such corrosive issues of omission and addition, the focushas been purely upon updating definitions and grammar, and the KJV translators accurate choiceshave been used as the benchmark. The issue often overshadowed in the bible version debate issimply the way Greek words have been redefined in the modern era for modern versions.Unfortunately, the NKJV leans upon the definition choices of other Critical Text based modernversions as well as defaulting to Vines and Strong's definitions, which are almost always favourableto the Revised Version. In other words, one may have a correct text to translate from, but may use3

erroneous modern version/modern dictionary definitions which change or distort the meaning ofthe words being translated. Jay Green and his Modern King James Version was accused of having agood TR bible but with “Alexandrian readings”. The KJV 2016 Edition rejects such erroneousmodern definitions and restores the distinctness of historical KJV readings. The NKJV has alsotended to gravitate toward the KJV marginal notes, which are in truth, rejected readings, and alsotoward Geneva Bible definitions, which the KJV had already examined and cleared up. We haveendeavoured to keep the words as close to the 1611-1900 as possible, but where needed we haveprovided corresponding modern words and grammar.Do we need yet another new version?There is a glut of “bibles” on the market, but how many can truly be labelled as akin to the KingJames? As Christians, we must be careful to make intelligent and informed decisions about whichtranslation of the Bible we choose to read. On one extreme, we have people who would give usheretical new translations that attempt to change God’s Word to make it politically correct. Manynew translations are not only poorly translated but are based upon poor manuscripts. But equallydangerous, is the other extreme of believing that any English translation that was produced afterthe original King James Bible will be heretical. Many who love the King James Bible reject anyattempt to modernize the Bible because of the glut of poor translations that have flooded the marketin the past century. The natural updating process that should have occurred to the KJV has beenstifled and thwarted by the introduction of corrupt and counterfeit bibles. We must remember thatone of the main purposes of the Protestant Reformation was to stop the Bible being imprisoned inan ancient language that few could understand, and into the modern, spoken, conversationallanguage of the present day.The original manuscripts of the New Testament were not written with all the eloquence of ClassicalGreek but in Koine Greek. In Greek “Koine” means common. The Bible was originally written inthe commonly spoken, conversational language of the day. William Tyndale, who produced the firstprinted Bible in English, fought and died for the right to print the Bible in the common, spoken,modern English tongue of his day. Tyndale boldly told one official who criticized his efforts, “IfGod spare my life, I will see to it that the boy who drives the ploughshare knows more of thescripture than you, Sir!” Will we now go backwards, and seek to imprison God’s Word once again inold translations? Clearly it is not God’s will that we overreact to some of the bad moderntranslations, by rejecting all new translations. The Word of God is unchanging from generation togeneration, but our language is a dynamic and ever changing form of communication. We thereforehave a responsibility before God as Christians to make sure that each generation has a moderntranslation that they can easily understand, yet that does not sacrifice accuracy in any way. With allthis in mind the King James Version 2016 seeks to continue the work of updating the Bible into thelanguage of today. This new Bible does not seek to replace the original King James Version, it wasmade to replace modern translations based on corrupt manuscripts. With the pre-eminence ofEnglish being spoken in so many nations, it would be a shame to miss the window of opportunity tooffer them an accurate, readable, modern English version. We have just completed New Testament’sbased upon the MT/TR/KJV in both Urdu and Khmer. Our sincere heart’s desire is to see theworld flooded with good, reliable, accurate, readable versions. We are open to anyone who wants tohelp with our project and welcome your feedback. We are open to the scholarly input of others andmay from time to time inspect and again work on words in this translation to bring them closer tothe original meaning of the KJV, and also to a clearer understanding for the modern reader.4

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened this way: After His mother Mary wasbetrothed to Joseph before they came together, she was found with child from theHoly Spirit.19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her apublic example, was minded to put her away privately.20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appearedto him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to yourselfMary your wife, because that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.21 And she will bear a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, because He willsave His people from their sins.”22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lordthrough the prophet, saying:23 “Behold, a virgin will be with child, and will bear a Son, and they will call Hisname Immanuel,” which being translated is, “God with us.”24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord hadcommanded him, and took to him his wife,25 and did not know her until she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And hecalled His name JESUS.Chapter 21 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king,behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem,2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? Since we have seenHis star in the east and have come to worship Him.”3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalemwith him.4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the peopletogether, he demanded of them where Christ would be born.5 And they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, because, thus it is written by theprophet:6 ‘And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the rulers ofJudah; because out of you will come a Ruler that will rule My people Israel.’”7 Then Herod, when he had privately called the wise men, diligently inquired ofthem what time the star appeared.8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search diligently for theyoung Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may comeand worship Him also.”9 After they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they hadseen in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the youngChild was.8

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with MaryHis mother, and fell down, and worshiped Him. And when they had opened theirtreasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.12 And being warned by God in a dream that they should not return to Herod,they departed into their own country another way.13 Now when they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared toJoseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee intoEgypt, and wait there until I bring you word; because Herod will seek the young Childto destroy Him.”14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departedinto Egypt,15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which wasspoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I have called MySon.”16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked because of the wise men, wasexceedingly angry; and he sent forth and killed all the children who were in Bethlehemand in all of its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time whichhe had diligently inquired of the wise men.17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet,saying:18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping, and great mourning,Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are nomore.”19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dreamto Joseph in Egypt,20 saying, “Arise, and take the young Child and His mother, and go into the landof Israel, because those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.”21 Then he arose, and took the young Child and His mother, and came into theland of Israel.22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in the position of hisfather Herod, he was afraid to go there. However being warned of God in a dream, heturned aside into the region of Galilee.23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilledwhich was spoken through the prophets, “He will be called a Nazarene.”Chapter 31 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,2 and saying, “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”9

3 Because, this is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah, saying: “Thevoice of one shouting in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the LORD; make Hispaths straight.’”4 Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around hiswaist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.5 Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism,he said to them, “O generation of vipers! Who has warned you to escape from thewrath to come?8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,9 and do not think to say within yourselves, ‘we have Abraham as our father.’Because, I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from thesestones.10 And even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every treewhich does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.11 I indeed baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after meis mightier than me, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you withthe Holy Spirit and with fire.12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean His threshingfloor, and gather His wheat into the storehouse; but He will burn up the chaff withunquenchable fire.”13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.14 But John prevented Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are Youcoming to me?”15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, because it is fittingfor us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.16 And when He was baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; andbehold, the heavens were opened to Him, and he saw the Spirit of God descendinglike a dove, and lighting upon Him.17 And behold a voice from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom Iam well pleased.”Chapter 41 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by thedevil.2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God,command that these stones become bread.”10

4 But He replied and said, “It is written, ‘Man will not live by bread alone, but byevery word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on a pinnacle of thetemple,6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. Because itis written: ‘He will give His angels orders concerning You,’ and, ‘in their hands theywill hold You up, lest at any time You strike Your foot against a stone.’”7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD yourGod.’”8 Again, the devil took Him up onto a very high mountain, and showed Him allthe kingdoms of the world and their glory.9 And he said to Him, “I will give You all these things, if You will fall down andworship me.”10 Then Jesus said to Him, “Leave Satan! Because it is written, ‘You shall worshipthe LORD your God, and Him only shall you serve.’”11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.12 Now when Jesus had heard that John had been thrown into prison, Hedeparted to Galilee.13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the seacoast, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali,14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying:15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyondthe Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great Light, and upon those whosat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent, because thekingdom of heaven is at hand.”18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter,and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; because they were fishermen.19 And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”20 And they immediately left their nets, and followed Him.21 And going on from there, He saw two more brethren, James the son ofZebedee, and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending theirnets, and He called them.22 And immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.23 Then Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preachingthe gospel of the kingdom, and healing all types of sickness and every kind of diseaseamong the people.24 And His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him every sickperson who was afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who werepossessed with demons, those who were insane, and paralytics; and He healed them.11

25 And large crowds of people followed Him from Galilee, and from Decapolis,Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.Chapter 51 And seeing the crowds, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seatedHis disciples came to Him.2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, because theirs is the kingdom of heaven.4 Blessed are those who mourn, because they will be comforted.5 Blessed are the meek, because they will inherit the earth.6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will befilled.7 Blessed are the merciful, because they will obtain mercy.8 Blessed are the pure in heart, because they will see God.9 Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called the children of God.10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, because theirs isthe kingdom of heaven.11 “Blessed are you when men revile you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evilagainst you falsely, for My sake.12 Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, because great is your reward in heaven,because they also persecuted the prophets who were before you.13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how will it besalted? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and to be trampled underfootby men.14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and itgives light to all who are in the house.16 Let your light shine like this before men, that they may see your good worksand glorify your Father who is in heaven.17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I did not cometo destroy but to fulfill.18 Because, truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, one jot or onetittle will by no means pass from the law, until all is fulfilled.19 Whoever therefore breaks one of these least commandments, but teaches menso, he will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teachesthem, they will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.20 Because, I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness ofthe scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter into the kingdom of heaven.21 “You have heard that it was said by those of old times, ‘You shall not murder,and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’12

22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause will bein danger of the judgment. And whoever shall say to his brother, ‘Raca!’ will be indanger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of hell fire.23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that yourbrother has something against you,24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled toyour brother, and then come and offer your gift.25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest atan time your adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to theofficer, and you be thrown into prison.26 Truly, I say to you, you will by no means come out of there until you have paidthe last penny.27 “You have heard that it was said by those of old times, ‘You shall not commitadultery.’28 But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her hascommitted adultery with her already in his heart.29 And if your right eye offends you, pluck it out, and cast it from you; because, itis more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than your entirebody to be thrown into hell.30 And if your right hand offends you, cut it off and cast it from you; because, it ismore profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that yourentire body be cast into hell.31 “It has been said, ‘whoever puts away his wife, let him give her a certificate ofdivorce.’32 But I say to you, that whoever puts away his wife for any reason except sexualimmorality, causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who isdivorced commits adultery.33 “Again, you have heard that it has been said to those of old times, ‘You shallnot swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, because it is God’sthrone;35 nor by the earth, because it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, because it is thecity of the great King.36 Neither shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair whiteor black.37 But let your communication be, ‘yes,’ ‘yes,’ or ‘no,’ ‘no.’ Because whatever goesbeyond these is from evil.38 “You have heard that it has been said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for atooth.’39 But I tell you that you should not resist a wicked person. But whoever slaps youon your right cheek, turn the other to him also.13

40 And if anyone wants to sue you at the law and take away your coat, let himhave your cloak also.41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go two with him.42 Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you donot turn away.43 “You have heard that it has been said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hateyour enemy.’44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good tothose who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,45 that you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven; because, Hemakes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and onthe unjust.46 Because, if you love those who love you, what reward do you gain? Do noteven the tax collectors do the same?47 And if you only greet your brethren, what do you do more than others? Do noteven tax collectors do so?48 Therefore be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.Chapter 61 “Beware that you do not do your charitable deeds in front of men, to be seen bythem. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.2 Therefore, when you do your charitable deeds, do not sound a trumpet beforeyou, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may haveglory from men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward.3 But when you do charitable deeds, do not let your left hand know what yourright hand is doing,4 that your charitable deeds may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secretwill Himself reward you openly.5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites are. Because, they loveto pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may beseen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward.6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door,pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will rewardyou openly.7 But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do. Because, theythink that they will be heard because of their many words.8 “Therefore do not be like them. Because, your Father knows the things youhave need of before you ask Him.9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Yourname.14

10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.11 Give us this day our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Because, Yours isthe kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.14 “Because, if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will alsoforgive you.15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgiveyour trespasses.16 “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sadcountenance. Because, they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men to befasting. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward.17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face,18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in thatsecret place; and your Father who sees in secret, will reward you openly.19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rustcorrupts, and where thieves break in and steal;20 but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rustcorrupts, and where thieves do not break in nor steal.21 Because, where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.22 “The light of the body is the eye. Therefore if your eye is single, your entirebody will be full of light.23 But if your eye is corrupt, your entire body will be filled with darkness.Therefore if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!24 “No one can serve two masters; because, either he will hate the one and lovethe other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serveGod and mammon.25 “Therefore I say to you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eator what you shall drink; nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not this lifemore than food and the body more than clothing?26 Look at the birds of the air, because, they neither sow nor reap nor gather intobarns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of much more value thanthem?27 Which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his stature?28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how theygrow: they neither toil nor spin;29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like oneof these.30 Now if God clothes the grass of the field like that, which today exists, andtomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of littlefaith?15

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or, ‘What shall we drink?’or, ‘What shall we wear?’32 (Because, the Gentiles seek after all these things.) Because your heavenlyFather knows that you have need of all these things.33 But you, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all thesethings will be added to you.34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will be concernedfor the issues of itself.
