Looking for some adventure custom fit for your needs! Have you ever wanted something madeespecially to your needs and preferences? Have some ideas of items that would make your lifeal little bit easier but can’t find someone to build it for you? Then you need to check us out! Myname is Nathan Hooper and my company is ME & Hoops Custom Creations. I am proud to offercustom riding equipment, furniture, household comforts and toys, dedicated solely for ‘littlepeople’. If you can think of it, I vow to design and build it.Some of our current projects include child bikes, trikes, scooters, skateboards, mountain bikes, chairs and steps/ stairways. Developmentally it is important for children to build muscles intheir legs at a young age. Children with Dwarfism have a difficult time accomplishing this due tothe lack of toys and recreational vehicles made to fit their frames. In the same way, continuedexercise into adolescence and adulthood maintains flexibility and strength. To meet thoseneeds I also offer modifications and custom built adult bike, trikes and scooters.I hope in the future to have numerous products available specifically for the LP community.Help me help you, contact me at: meandhoopscc@yahoo.com or check us out on Facebook ns. 3

The second volume of California's Preschool Curriculum Framework recently released in December2011, features children from our local chapter of LPA! Although dwarfism is not specificallymentioned in reference to the pictures of these children, the presence of each child's image in thispublication validates the inclusion of children with special needs. In particular it promotes theinclusion of children with short stature conditions in early childhood settings. We think it issignificant that these photos show up in the chapters on Physical Development and Health. This publication is the second volume in a set of 3 and they are the the guiding documents for theCalifornia Department of Education regarding appropriate teaching strategies, environments andactivities that promote learning and development for children ages 3-5.The California Preschool Curriculum Framework Volume 2 is accessible online at the ents/psframeworkvol2.pdfThe print copy book can also be ordered ( 21.95) at CDE Press at 1-800-995-4099 or via email atsales@cde.ca.govNote: The pictures of our local LPA children are on the following pages: 155, 161, 198, 249, 254and 257 (the child on 257 does not have a short stature condition, but is the older sibling of a child withachondroplasia and is a member of our chapter).Laura Bridges Child Development ConsultantCDE Child Development Division, Quality Improvement Office1430 N Street Suite 3410, Sacramento, CA 95814916-323-1340 * lbridges@cde.ca.gov 6
