OverviewThe 2019 Texas Business Permits and Licenses Guide is provided by the Business Permit Officewithin the Office of the Governor’s Economic Development and Tourism Division. The BusinessPermit Office, established in accordance with Subchapter H, Chapter 481 of the Texas GovernmentCode, is responsible for providing comprehensive information on permits required for businessenterprises in the state and for making that information available to applicants and other persons.This comprehensive permit guide offers a listing of state permits that may be required for personsdesiring to operate a business enterprise in the state. To the greatest extent possible, the contentof this handbook has been organized to align with the requirements of Texas Government, Section481.125, and is intended to offer a current listing of state-level permit information according tothe types of businesses affected.
