Mensaje del Padre PaulEstimadas Familias y Amigos de SantaMargarita María,El verano ha terminado y el nuevo año escolar ha comenzado. ¿Recuerdas cuando teníamos que escribir unreporte sobre lo que hicimos durante nuestras vacaciones de verano? Nuestra escuela de Santa Margaritacomenzó un nuevo año académico el 16 de agosto yahora está en pleno apogeo, incluso con el tragueteode una semana durante la Feria de Lomita. Cuandollegué por primera vez a SMM hice de la escuela unade mis principales prioridades. La parroquia y la escuela son una. Ambos se necesitan para cumplir connuestra misión parroquial de construir el Reino aquíen nuestro pequeño rincón de Lomita. La parroquiaapoya plenamente a la escuela porque las familias escolares son el futuro de la parroquia. Juntos, la parroquia y la escuela han hecho grandes progresos, aunque, por supuesto, todavía queda mucho por hacer.Hace cuatro años teníamos 243 estudiantes.Este año nuestra matrícula llegó a 320, es decir,casi plena capacidad. Además, ofrecemosel Sacramento de la Reconciliación para todos los grados (3º-8º) tres veces al año (después de vacaciones deverano, durante Adviento y Cuaresma). La idea es quenuestros hijos que asisten a misa semanalmente y vana la confesión regularmente serán buenos ejemplospara sus padres, animándolos a asistir a misa todos losdomingos como una familia. Después de todo, ¿quésentido tiene sacrificar tanto para proporcionar una3sólida educación católica a los hijos si los propios padres no están practicando plenamente la fe? Los niños,como las esponjas, absorben todo, lo bueno y lo no tanbueno. Puede que no recuerden lo que decimos peroimitarán lo que hacemos, por lo que nuestro ejemploes de primordial importancia. Como pastor, esto siempre está en mi mente. Nosotros tres sacerdotes hacemos nuestro mejor esfuerzo para ser buenos ejemplosvisitando y estando presentes en la escuela tanto comosea posible, esperanzadamente inspirando una vocación futura o dos.Los domingos, cuando veo a una familia conniños, a menudo entablo una conversación con los niños en presencia de sus padres: "Hola, ¿dónde van loschicos a la escuela?" 6AMOR Y CORRECCION FRATERNAPor Humberto BeltránTodos ojeamos con curiosidad y malicia las noticias sensacionalistas de periódicos y revistascuando traen chismes de la alta sociedad: quetal artista tiene un romance, que fulano se divorció, que tal político vive en tales enredos. Periodistas y locutores de televisión tienen ciertapsicología popular: explotan la morbosidad delpúblico que le gusta hablar de vidas ajenas. Muchos disfrutamos comentar las debilidades deotros, en bajar del pedestal a otros importantes.Los periódicos son fotografía de la vida real. Loschismes se transmiten de oído en oído, correnpor la línea telefónica. Lo que pasa es que hablamos a espaldas de otros, no en la cara. Cuando no nos sentimos suficientemente limpios,tenemos miedo de hablar de frente. El hablar aespaldas de otro es señal de debilidad humana.Y la verdad dicha así se deforma y nuestra crítica no construye nada, sino que destruye y mata.El evangelio de este domingo nos ofrecela pedagogía de la corrección cristiana quesiempre debe ser inspirada y guiada por la caridad: no debe buscar el avergonzar y confundiral pecador, sino su conversión y perdón. El cristiano está llamado a perdonar siempre pero aveces esto no basta; hay que corregir al pecadorpara que se dé cuenta de su conducta y del malque hace para que cambie, y para que otras personas no lo imiten y cometan el mismo pecado oerror; además, las personas inocentes no tendrán que continuar sufriendo las consecuenciasde las faltas de otros.La corrección en privado es un deber de los individuos, y solamente cuando no produce resultado en privado se debe hacer públicamente.Es muy difícil corregir a uno sin acusarlo o condenarlo de modo que sólo se le ayude y salve.Uno no debe meter la nariz en la vida de los demás, sino el obrar en favor de la justicia y la paz.La corrección fraterna es una expresiónmuy importante del amor comunitario; debecorregir teniendo en miras el bien de la comunidad. El proceso de reconciliación debe ser iniciado, no por la persona que tiene razón, sinopor la que tiene más amor. En todo caso, debemos atacar el error, defender la verdad, y respetar a las personas; esto es importante especial-mente cuando la herida aún está caliente, por loque siempre hay que ir despacio, dando tiempoal amor. “El que bien te quiere, te hará llorar,”dice el antiguo refrán, porque elamor no es simple afectividad; a veces tiene queproducir conflictos para que pueda crecer y sermás fuerte.Cuando cumplimos con la obligación dela corrección fraterna, no debemos olvidar quetambién nosotros tenemos el tejido de cristal, yque a la persona caída hay que ofrecerle lamano para levantarla, en lugar de pisotearla;porque Dios no quiere la muerte del pecadorsino que se convierta y viva. La corrección fraterna debe ser siempre un paso hacia la salvación de las personas corregidas.Dicen que el mundo está dividido en dosgrandes grupos: los que actúan y los que critican a los que actúan. Pero la sociedad no camina por los que critican, sino por los que actúan.Necesitamos, es verdad, personas que con crítica sabia nos ayude a construir.Reflexión.La misa de este domingo nos pone frentea Dios, nuestra conciencia y nuestros hermanos. Dios que nos reúne es Dios de la verdad.Hemos venido a buscar cómo ver con nuestrospropios ojos la verdad, a fin de tener el valor dedecirle también a los demás y así ganarlos parael bien. Que esta misa nos traiga luz y valor paraasumir ante nuestros hermanos la postura franca de la verdad. Así edificaremos juntos elReino de Dios.
