Ayman Khair is representing about 180 Christian families from Bethlehem. These families have been dependent upon salesof their hand carved religious articles to tourists of the Holy Land. Due to the conflict in the Middle East and the Pandemic,tourism has been stopped completely since March 2, 2020. t is very important to support them at this critical time, sincethey have no income and there is no government to take care of them and help them. In order to survive, they have turned toChristian communities in the United State to purchase their articles. These hand carved religious articles are beyond description. Carved from wood of the sacred Olive tree, this workmanshiphas been traditional for these families for hundreds of years. It is hoped that through the efforts of Mr. Khair, these familieswho have little income and are able to stay living and survive in the Holy Land. Sadly enough, the Christian population dropped from 22 % to less than 2% in the last 20 years. Thank you in advance foryour support. Ayman Khair esta representando cerca de 180 familias cristianas de Belén. Estas familias han dependido de la venta de articulos religiosos tallados a mano a turistas en Tierra Santa. Debido al conflicto en el Medio Oriente y la pandemia, el turismo se ha detenido por completo desde Marzo del 2020. Es muy importante apoyarlos durante este tiempo critico, ya que notienen ingresos y no hay un gobierno que los cuide y ayude. Para sobrevivir, se han dirigido a las comunidades cristianas enlos Estados Unidos para que compren sus articulos. Estos artículos religiosos tallados a mano están más hallá de toda descripción. Tallado en madera del Olivo Sagrado, estetrabajo ha sido tradicional para estas familias por cientos de años. Se espera que gracias a los esfuerzos del señor Kahir, estas familias de bajos ingresos puedan quedarse a vivir y sobrevivir en la Tierra Santa. A note from Father JamesUna Nota del Padre JamesIn the Nicene creed, we proclaim our belief in God asthe Creator of “all things visible and invisible.” In thiscreed, we are expressing our belief that everything thatwe have is a gift from God. Our response is to live ascaretakers of God’s gifts and to use them wisely for thegood of all. Another word for caretaker is Steward.Catholics believe that we are called to live as stewardsof God’s creation, and as stewards we recognize that allwe are and all we have belong to God. Since we ultimately have no ownership of anything but are entrustedwith the care of that which belongs to God, we try toavoid hoarding anything for ourselves. Stewardshipcalls us to care responsibly for God’s gifts and to sharegenerously of our time, talent and treasure. Stewardship, then, is not a parish program, nor is it ultimately about money. It is an attitude and a way of life.Stewardship is a lifestyle that enhances our relationshipwith God and our brothers and sisters by calling us tocenter our lives on Jesus Christ rather than ourselves. Stewardship is not a matter of giving up a portion ofwhat is ours. It’s a matter of recognizing that we areblessed to be able to keep a large percentage of what isGod’s after we’ve returned to him a small percentage ofwhat already belongs to him. My parents were not rich. As a result, their contributionto the church were never all that dramatic. We were notpoo, but cash flow was limited in a family of seven children. My parents gave everything that they could in theform of goods and money. However, their stewardshipdid not end there. They devoted more than their fairshare of time and talent to the parish community. Mydad always had church in his heart until his last momenthere on earth. Both Mom and Dad enthusiasticallyserved numerous roles in the parish to practice theirstewardship. They must have done a good job of instilling a sense of stewardship in all of us children. We allcontinue to serve Christ and Church very enthusiastically. One of the seven became a religious and me a priest.What they taught me have helped me all these years ofmy life as a priest in my ministries. My Mom and Dadare gone for their eternal reward but the stewardshiplives on! En el credo de Nicea, proclamamos nuestra creencia enDios como el Creador de “todo lo visible e invisible.”En este credo, estamos expresando nuestra creencia deque todo lo que tenemos es un regalo de Dios. Nuestrarespuesta es vivir como cuidadores de los regalos deDios y usarlos sabiamente para el bien de todos. Otrapalabra para cuidador es Administrador. Los católicoscreemos que estamos llamados a ser administradores dela creación de Dios, y como administradores, reconocemos que todo lo que somos y todo lo que tenemos pertenece a Dios. Puesto que no somos dueños de nada, sinose nos ha confiado el cuidado de aquello que pertenecea Dios, tratamos de no acumular para nosotros mismos.La administración nos llama a cuidar responsablementede los regalos de Dios y a compartir generosamente denuestro tiempo, talento y tesoro. Administración entonces, no es un programa parroquial,ni se trata solamente de dinero. Es una actitud, y unamanera de vivir. La corresponsabilidad es una forma devivir que mejora nuestra relación con Dios y con nuestros hermanos y hermanas llamándonos a centrar nuestras vidas a Jesucristo en vez de a nosotros mismos Administración no se trata de renunciar a una parte delo que es nuestro. Se trata de reconocer que estamosbendecidos de poder conservar un gran porcentaje de loque pertenece a Dios después de que hemos devuelto unpequeño porcentaje de lo que ya le pertenece. Mis padres no eran ricos. Como resultado, su contribución a la iglesia nunca fue tan dramática. No éramospobres, pero el dinero era limitado en una familia desiete hijos. Mis padres dieron todo lo que pudieron enforma de bienes y dinero. Sin embargo, su corresponsabilidad no termino allí. Ellos, dedicaron más de lo queles correspondía en tiempo y talento a la comunidad parroquial. Mi padre siempre tubo a la Iglesia en su corazón hasta su último momento aquí en la tierra. Tantomi madre como mi padre desempeñaron con gran entusiasmo numerosos roles en la parroquia practicando asísu corresponsabilidad. Deben de haber desempeñadoun buen trabajo inculcando un sentido de corresponsabilidad en todos nosotros, sus hijos. Todos continuamossirviendo a Cristo y la Iglesia con mucho entusiasmo.Uno de los siete es una religiosa y yo un sacerdote. Loque ellos me enseñaron me ha ayudado todos estos añosde mi vida como sacerdote en mis ministerios. ¡Mi Madre y mi Padre han partido a su recompensa eterna perosu corresponsabilidad sigue viva! Fr.
