Todd works as a consultant forengineering projects. Todd and his wife and their two children have lived in Bremen since 2005. He grew up in Lancaster and is a graduate of Lancaster High School. His son isa sophomore at Ohio University (graduate of FairfieldUnion), and his daughter is junior at Fairfield Union.Todd grew up in a single parent household and he learnedthe important lessons of helping his mother and his threesiblings at an early age. He feels that his family was successTodd Wesaw photo by Jeff Whiteful because of a spirit of cooperation in their family. Hewants to help improve life in the Village of Bremen by beinga member of the council, and he noted that the village needsto work on improving the business environment in the village in order to be a more prosperous community. He feelsthat a spirit of cooperation of the council is important forsuccess. These highly skilled K-9sare trained to detect hidden wildgame such as white-tailed deer,turkey, waterfowl and fish, alongwith other non-game scents likeginseng and gun powder. Theywill also have the ability to trackpeople and will be used to findlost hunters and people huntingwithout permission.Recently, three K-9s and thewildlife officer handlers began a10-week training academy wherethey will master their skills. Theprogram will be in line with theOhio Peace Officer TrainingAcademy standards for law enforcement K-9s in Ohio. The K9s will also get advanced trainingin wildlife detection – findingwild animals and parts such asfish, deer, turkey, waterfowl andmore.The K-9s will also be friendlyand socialized to participate inconservation programs and youthevents, allowing people to meetthem and ask questions about ournewest law enforcement members.The Karr-Aanestad family hasstarted a foundation to help fundthe program. In addition, severaldonors have made contributionsto help start the program, including Whitetails Unlimited, Buckeye Big Buck Club, Safari ClubInternational, Pheasants Forever,and National Wild Turkey Federation.
