Ryan High School RenaissanceWhat is Renaissance?Renaissance is a national program establishedby Josten’s to recognize, reward, respect andreinforce academic success in ALL students,encouraging pride in academic achievement. Itis a partnership of faculty, parents, andcommunity to support excellence and academicimprovement. We will begin the program with seniorsin September, followed by freshmen inOctober, and juniors and sophomores inNovember. You will be getting additionalinformation as implementation continues.Also in September, academic counselorswill be meeting individually with each seniorto talk about what to do as they face the laststeps in preparing for their future educationand/or career. We will send notices to theseniors about a week ahead of time, and ifparents are available, they should feel free tojoin seniors at the time listed. Theseappointments will last about 15 minutes andwill be scheduled back-to-back, so we mustmake sure to start each one right on time!Seniors and juniors should also plan toattend the NorTex College Fair on Thursday,Sept. 13, at the UNT Coliseum. Over 200colleges will be represented, and there willalso be presentations on financial aidopportunities. To register for the conference,go to www.gotocollegefairs.org.Freshmen will be completing their CareerScope assessment in September as well. Thisprogram is used to help freshmen determinesome career options that meet with theirinterests and skill sets. It is the first
