What is a QRCode?
What is a QR code? Short for Quick Response code 2-dimensional bar code invented by Toyotasubsidiary in 1994 for vehicle tracking duringmanufacturing Image sensor reads QR code image and gathersinformation in two dimensions (unlike traditionalbarcodes that are read data in one dimension only)
2-dimensional data storage means greater capacityvs. traditional barcodes (7000 digits vs. 20 digits) Requires smaller space and is resistant to dirt anddamage (has robust error correction of up to 30%) Rapidly readable from any direction by virtue oftheir position detection patterns
How do you create a QR code? Dedicated QR code generator software ie.QREncoder (Mac), XRen QR Code Generator(Windows) Online QR code generators ie. QRstuff.com,unitaglive.com/qrcode Print to standard inkjet printerHow do you read a QR code? QR codes can be read using smartphones or tabletswith onboard cameras and a code-reading app
