The church was founded in 1998with only 12 people and has grown to severalthousand and serves people throughout NorthernVirginia, DC and Maryland.Over 10 years ago, Dr. Grier had the vision to offerChristian-based education and leadershipdevelopment to individuals who were wanting togain a deeper understanding of biblical truths andhow to apply that understanding to their lives, aswell as impact the world for Christ. In 2011, hetook a leap of faith and established VBC.The College has seen steady growth since itsinception, which culminated in its first graduatingclass (both Master's and Bachelor's level) in thespring of 2013. As VBC evolved, many of itsstudents, including veterans and federal workers,desired to receive federal aid to fund theirmatriculation there. Thus, a need for accreditationbecame apparent. In 2014, VBC began theaccreditation process with the TransnationalAssociation of Christian Colleges and Schools(TRACS). The College achieved Candidate (PreAccredited) Status and recognition as a memberinstitution with TRACS in October of 2017 andAccredited Status on November 4, 2019.PHILOSOPHY, CORE VALUES, BELIEFS, &PRINCIPLESPhilosophy of EducationVirginia Bible College views the direct study of theBible as the primary means to a successful life andministry. In its entirety, the educational andpractical experience of the College is designed toenable students to know the Word of God, to applyit to every aspect of life and to minister it effectivelyto the world.The College is founded upon and shall forever bededicated to the declaration and preservation ofBiblical Christianity and academic excellence. TheCollege is a Christian institution with the distinctivefree reign of the Holy Spirit, which encourages theexpression of the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit.The College is committed to the historic Christianfaith of the eternal Godhead: Father, Son, and theHoly Spirit who, through the new birth andindwelling of His Spirit is Lord of our lives now andforever. Inorder to qualify for any position at Virginia BibleCollege (i.e., Board member, faculty,administration, staff, volunteers, etc.), individualsmust whole-heartedly acknowledge and live by thefollowing core beliefs: The Holy Bible: The Holy Bible is the Wordof God – originally given by God, divinelyinspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, andthe only supreme authority in all matters offaith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16).One true God: The one true God externallyexists, manifest in three persons: Father,Son, and Holy Spirit. (Mark 12:29, Matthew28:19, Deuteronomy 6:4).The Lord Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ- Godmanifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, Hissinless human life, His divine miracles, Hisbodily resurrection, His ascension, Hismediatory work and His personal return inpower and glory. (John 1:14, Luke 1:26-38,Hebrews 4:15, John 2:11, Luke 24:39, John1:29, Acts 1:9-11).Salvation & Redemption: Man is in the needfor redemption because of the fall of man.(Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7, Romans 3:2324). The salvation of lost and sinful people,regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutelyessential. (Titus 3:5-7, Romans 3:28).Baptism: Baptism in water by immersion.(Matthew 28:19, Colossians 2:12).The Holy Spirit: The present ministry of theHoly Spirit by whose indwelling the Christianis enabled to live a godly life. (Luke 24:49,Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46, Hebrews 13:8, 1Corinthians 12:7-11).

(1Corinthians 12:12-26, Ephesians 2:19-22).Lifestyle & Worship: Right living, giving andloving others are a vital part of the life andworship of disciples of Christ. We alsobelieve that sex is sacred and designed toboth distinguish & strengthen the marriagebond between one man and one woman –as revealed in scripture – while maintainingcelibacy in all other relationships. While welove, invite and welcome all to attend ourchurch services, Ambassadors/Studentsare only eligible for ordination and to servein elective or appointed ministries if theirlifestyle, personal beliefs, and sexual livesreflect the fruit of true grace. (Hebrews12:14, Proverbs 3:9, Malachi 3:8-10, Luke6:38, Hebrews 7:8, Matthew 22:36-40;23:23)The Resurrection: The Resurrection of boththe saved and the lost. The saved unto theresurrection of life, and the lost unto theresurrection of damnation. (Luke 16:19-31,Mark 16:16, Revelation 20:11-15).The Lord’s Supper: We believe in theparticipation in the Lord's Supper throughreceiving the communion elements and allthey represent.
