Profiles of facilities, staff,volunteers, families andresidents in Kentucky’slong term care facilities.The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities held its Annual Meeting and Expobuilding a “Game Plan for Success” at the Galt House in Louisville Nov. 14-16. Morethan 700 long-term care providers met during the meeting, attending educationalsessions on vital issues they are facing. The week was capped off with the QualityAwards Banquet and the new Best of Kentucky – Nursing and Rehabilitation Awardhonoring 21 Kentucky providers for outstanding care. She never looks at her staffas “them” but “us” and keeps situations calm withher wit and laughter. She demonstrated her devotionto her residents by still working a half day every daywhile undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer. Despite her own health issues this year, shemade sure the facility’s annual Mother’s Day event wenton as planned.
