DISCOVERY FOR BUSINESSEmployeeinvestment choiceYou can choose which ofthese investment funds toprofile when your employeeswant investment choice.DYNAMIC ASSETOPTIMISER FUNDOF FUNDSThis range of funds uses a sophisticatedasset allocation model (developed byRisCura) to blend a diversified portfolioof Discovery funds to optimise returnsat relevant risk levels on an ongoingbasis. The range targets a certain CPIrelated return and the targets are usedto generate the optimal portfolios foreach risk level when constructing andrebalancing the portfolios and funds.15BALANCED FUND RANGEOur Balanced Funds invest in a blend ofassets, such as equities, bonds, cash andproperty, allowing investors to take advantageof the benefits of diversification. We aim tokeep the funds within specified risk ranges, andat the same time maximise the potential forgrowth. We offer three funds to suit investors’different appetites for risk: the DiscoveryCautious Balanced Fund, the DiscoveryModerate Balanced Fund, and the DiscoveryBalanced Fund.The Discovery Balanced Fund has remained afavourite amongst investors as shown by itsranking in the top 10 takers of retail net flows inthe unit trust market as per the Association forSavings and Investment South Africa (ASISA)3.The Discovery Moderate Balanced Fund hasbeen named as one of two finalists in the BestModerate Allocation Fund category in theMorningstar Fund Awards South Africa 2018.

All transfers are subject tothe requirements prescribed by SARS. he further the employee is from the normalTretirement age (as agreed with the employer asa condition of employment) when they transferin, the larger the boost. here are no boosts for employees with termsTof less than 10 years to retirement. So employeesjoining within 10 years before they reach thenormal retirement age will have the option todefer retiring from the fund to a later date toqualify for the boosts. hese boosts are held outside the Fund and growTat the same net fund returns as the lump-suminvestments, and are paid into the employee’sfund on the normal retirement age or thedeferred date, as set out above.BOOST TO CONTRIBUTIONS These boosts apply to contributions made afteremployees join the fund.
