OMU is donating 50 toward this the checkwill be sent to the school.Fundraisers-(5 Have been approved already)Will also look at Pizza Hut fund raiser and Worlds finest chocolate.Friday after 5 does not allow food sales. Other type booths can be done by non-profit organizations.Refrigerator needs to be inventoried to turn in to be reimbursed for food lost during power outage.Drummers will have camp at the end of the band pre-camp.Need siren for band show.Discussed logo for this years marching show (Mushroom cloud with Japanese island marked “NewDawn” Possibly in school colors)Target donated 25 dollar gift cardKentron donated 100 dollar and 1 Plaque donation.Will limit Pit Crew to 10 or 15 members if possible.Discussed show day schedule- Practice 3 hrs. in that time run through show, clean instruments, andload truck. Then band members will go home and come back in time to leave for show. AHS Marching Band Classic - Festival Program Ad SalesFestival Program Ad sales are picking up. We mailed renewal requests to advertise again tocompanies that had advertised with us in the last three years and will be following up on theseshortly.Of course, the best solicitation is from a booster personally. If your employer purchasesadvertising, why not ask them to purchase an ad in our program? Another good source for adsare companies you do business with. An ad form is included in this newsletter or online. Feelfree to make copies.This is an excellent source of revenue for the band. Thank you for your help with these ads.Contact Chuck Billings 926-2346 if you can help or have any questions.Apollo High School Marching Band ClassicWe will host our band competition on September 16, 2006 in the evening beginning around 4:00depending on the number of bands attending. This is a major fundraiser for the band and weneed all available parents to help out. At this time, we do not know how many bands will attend,but it could be anywhere from eight or more. The more bands we have, the more money we canraise.Whether you can help a couple of hours or all day, we need your help.We will try to do as much as we can do on Friday night and Saturday morning so that we can beready. There are several areas at the band festival you can help in:Band Host - One senior parent and one senior are assigned to each band for the day.Contest Vehicle - We need dads to drive the contest vehicles and monitor the contest vehicle gate.Facility Set-Up - Set up tents and get the stadium ready.Ticket Sales - Collect money and sell tickets at either the front or back gate.Gate Guards - Monitor the gates and collect tickets at either the front gate or the back gate.Safety Tent - Monitor the tent and make sure water coolers are filled. There will be EMTs and anambulance on site to handle any emergencies or illnesses.Hospitality Room - Prepare food for the hospitality room which is provided for the band directorsand chaperones. Also, keep the hospitality room stocked with food.Concessions - Work in the concession stand. We need lots of people here.Program Sales - Collect money and sell the program during the contest.Contact your parent representatives and let them know you can work.Together, we can help make this year an Wonderful experience for our children.On the reverse of this page is an order form for ads, please make copies to use.AHS Music Notes 7
