She waspreviously a registered nurse for Kona Hospital and North HawaiiCommunity Hospital. Ms. Dierenfield was also a faculty member forthe University of Hawaii Hilo School of Nursing. She obtained herAssociate's degree in nursing and history from Pasadena CityCollege, her Bachelor of SCience in nursing from the University ofPhoenix, and is currently enrolled in a Masters of Nursing programat the University of Hawaii. Ms. Dierenfield has dedicated herlife's work in healthcare to the West Hawaii community. Shecurrently sits on the West Hawaii Regional Board of the HawaiiHealth Systems Corporation. Your Committee therefore recommendsthat Ms. Dierenfield be appointed and reappointed to the Board ofDirectors of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation based on herexperience in nursing and her commitment to serving the WestHawaii region.UponDONNA MCCLEARYYour Committee received testimonyin support of thenomination for the reappointment of Donna McCleary from the HawaiiHealth Systems Corporation.review of the testimony, your Committee finds thatDr. McCleary is a retired pediatrician who served at the WailukuKaiser Clinic and Maui Memorial Hospital for thirty—seven years.Dr. McCleary is currently on the Hawaii Health Systems CorporationBoard of Directors. In addition to her clinical practice,Dr. McCleary served in various leadership positions both with theHawaii Permanente Medical Group and in the larger medicalcommunity. During this time, Dr. McCleary aided in expanding theMaui Kaiser delivery system, creating the physician component ofthe Kaiser delivery system in Kona, Hilo, and Waimea, and servingas medical director of Kaiser Med-QUEST. After retirement,Dr. McCleary continued serving on the board of directors ofHospice Maui and Hale Makua. She has also volunteered for theMaui Medical Response Team. He currently serves on the Boardof Directors of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.Previously, Mr. Wong served in various roles for the Hawaii StateLegislature. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University ofHawaii William S. Richardson School of Law and his Bachelor'sdegree in business administration management from ConcordiaUniversity Irvine. Mr. Wong has keen interest in farm to schoolmeal programs and can assist the Hawaii Health Systems Corporationto improve its food service efforts and his knowledge of countyand state government operations offer valuable insight. Mr. Adams is also a servingmember of the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Health SystemsCorporation. Mr. Adams previously worked as an attorney in theprivate sector and as the vice president and chief financialofficer for Sunrise Aloha, LLC. Prior to his career as anattorney, Mr. Adams had a distinguished career serving in theUnited States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. During histime on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Health SystemsCorporation, Mr. Adams has assisted by navigating issues such ascompliance, liability, and risk management. As Chair of HawaiiHealth Systems Corporation Board's Finance and Information Systemscommittee, Mr. Adams provides leadership in the financialoversight of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation's financialplanning, reporting, and monitoring internal controls.
