Modesto Junior CollegeChild Development Advisory CommitteeMinutesNovember 7,2012Advisory members present: Laurie Hatch (MJC), Pam Guerra-Schmidt(MJC), Debbie Laffranchini (MJC), Mickey Boelter (MCS), Gail Brovont(COTC), Janet Chisler (Sequoia Preschool Academy), &VeronicaGarcia (SCOE).-Welcome and Introductions: Laurie had everyone introducethemselves and state what agency they represented.Gail Brovont (COTC) - Gail passed around new COTC brochures foreveryone. She stated that the Consortium funded almost all colleges atthe same level as last year, there were a few colleges that didn't meettheir quotas and had their amount decreased.There is a new twist this year to COTC, on the student profiles(applications); there is a survey to collect information for studentdemographics. The computer program now lets you see what studenthad been doing: classes taken, trainings attended, permits applied for,and CPIN. The goal is that by next year, no hard copies will beaccepted, all data will be online.California Early Care & Education Training Portal is now live. There is anew tab on website under Professional Growth, where you can accesstraining in your area. There are links in portal, which link you directly tocollege online classes. Any Community College in Ca. can be accessedthrough portal.

They could tell us what they saw and send to Office of HeadStart. There are thresholds as to minimums. They looked at everything.Health & Safety is very big right now. All domestic programs could be cut 8.5%. ) ]CARES is helping staff & Family Care Centers to get up to higherstandards of care. Rates are between 1.00 per day - 8.80 per day. Because ofl . {.\ir;\this fee, MCS is finding it difficult to keep classes full. These are for studentsstaking Early Intervention classes. You can Google WestEd and lookfor Early Start Foundation. Pam also shared that VMRC will be startinga Toy Lending Library beginning December 1st.
