Alcolyzer Plus SpiritsAlcohol Meter for Spirits::: Unique Density & Concentration Meters

Alcolyzer Plus SpiritsAlcohol Meter for SpiritsAccurate spirits analysis ensures excellent product quality.Spirits analysis therefore constitutes an essential part of thedaily work in the distillery. The new Alcolyzer Plus Spirits is theinnovative measuring system which efficiently and preciselydetermines alcohol %vol, color and pH of spirits such aswhisky, cognac, brandy, vodka, gin, tequila and rum:4444AlcoholDensity (optional)Color (optional)pH value (optional)The Alcolyzer Plus Spirits from Anton Paar is an attractivelypriced, space-saving, virtually maintenance-free system whichcan grow to fit your needs.Adjustment/calibration and operation are simple. No specialsample preparation is necessary. Measuring times are shortand results highly accurate.Measuring systemsThere are 2 different measuring systems available: One for thelaboratory and one for use at the production line.System for the laboratoryThe measuring system for the lab consists of the Alcolyzer Plus basicinstrument, a DMA density meter and an SP-1m automatic samplechanger. The sample changer loads up to 24 samples automaticallyinto the system. The typical sample throughput is 15 samples perhour. While the Alcolyzer Plus determines the alcohol content, anAnton Paar oscillating U-tube density meter determines the densityof the samples. The DMA 4500 is especially suitable for routine work;the DMA 5000 is usually chosen for research work due to its higheraccuracy. These components are stacked on top of each other totake up minimum lab space.System for use at the production lineThe measuring system for quality control during production consistsof the Alcolyzer Plus basic instrument with an integrated sample fillingunit SF-1. The SF-1 utilizes a peristaltic pump for filling and replacingsamples. The sample can be measured directly out of the bottle. An optional pH and color measurement can be integrated into bothsystems. The color measurement determines the light absorptionof 430 nm of the spirits in the spectral range according to the EBCand ASBC standards. The pH sensor is attached to the side of theinstrument and connected to the sample loop.

Features and Benefits4 Easy to use4 Only approx. 10 minutes start-up time per day4 Quick and simple adjustment4 No need for users to develop calibrations as is required byconventional NIR systems4 Integrated solid-state thermostat, no manual setting of thetemperature required4 For samples from 35 up to 65 %vol alcohol4 For spirits such as whisky, cognac, brandy, vodka, gin, tequilaand rum.4 Space-saving, compact, modular design4 Virtually maintenance-free4 Attractive priceOptionsBar code readerAllows comfortable sample identification.KeyboardAllows comfortable sample identification andoperation of the whole menu. OperationThe Alcolyzer Plus Spirits is simply adjustedwith water and occasionally with analcohol/water solution. This adjustment isvalid for all types of spirits. The optional pHand color measuring devices are adjustedwith appropriate standards. The measuring data are displayed and sentto a printer, PC or LIMS system. Up to100 analyses can be stored in the system.Sample identification is either assignedautomatically or entered via a keyboard orbar code reader.PrincipleThe heart of the system is the patented, selective alcohol measurement (US6,690,015 B1, AT 406 711): A narrow, highly alcohol-specific range of the NIRspectrum is evaluated using a speciallydeveloped, highly stable high-resolutionspectrometer and suitable algorithms. In this particular spectral range, theinfluence of other spirits ingredients isso small that extremely accurate alcoholresults are obtained. This new measuring method does notrequire the chemometric calibrationprocedures needed by traditional NIRbased instruments. Due to its selectivitythe measuring method only requiresadjustment/calibration with water and analcohol/water solution.
