Students under 18 years of age with a Certificate of Proficiency,must provide a completed copy of the “Parent Consent” form.High School Students: High school students currently enrolled ingrades 9-12 may be eligible for advanced scholastic or vocationalstudy courses that have been authorized on their Dual EnrollmentProgram Request Form. See High School Dual Enrollment formore information.International Students in F-1 Visa Status : Santa Rosa JuniorCollege encourages and welcomes international applicants. TheInternational Admissions staff helps students with the applicationand visa process. All students who are accepted for admission receivea welcome orientation and English Placement Tests to determineappropriate course levels. International students also receiveassistance with course registration, counseling, tutoring, universitytransfer, and housing. SRJC currently hosts students from over 48countries around the world.The International Student Academic Program is designed forstudents who are prepared to take college level courses. SRJC offersa wide variety of majors and courses, many of which transfer tofour-year colleges and universities. Many students earn a two-yearassociate degree and return to their home country to work orto pursue university studies, while others complete the associatedegree and/or the first two years of U.S. university bachelor degreerequirements before transferring to university. Applicants mustprovide evidence of financial support, proof of English proficiency,high school diploma, and copy of passport.We accept new students for the Fall and Spring semesters, and forSummer Session. Please visit our website at international.santarosa.edu for application forms, deadlines, and additional information.Add CodesOnce classes have closed, students may add a class on a spaceavailable basis. Students may go to the class and receive permissionfrom the instructor to add the class. The instructor will give thestudent an add code that will allow the student to add the courseon the Student Portal.To use an Add Code enter your SID and PIN code atwww.santarosa.edu/portal. Choose the semester and select Add/Drop/Register. Enter the course section number. You will beinformed that the class is closed and that you need an Add Code.Enter the Add Code and press “Complete Transaction”. Be sureto complete all steps and print a copy for your records.Enrollment services via the web are available 24 hours a day withoccasional downtime for scheduled maintenance operations.Adding and Dropping ClassesStudents must have a current application on file or be in continuingstatus before they can add and drop courses.Adding/dropping classes are not automatic and can be accomplishedonly on the Student Portal (www.santarosa.edu/portal) or throughone of the Admissions and Records Offices.Filing an official drop is always the student’s responsibility. Failureto drop, if withdrawing from a course, will result in a debt and/orfailing grade. Any student enrolled in a course who misses the firstclass meeting may be dropped from the course by the instructor.But do not assume instructors will add or drop for students! It isultimately the responsibility of the student to drop the courseand keep a record of the transaction.Auditable CoursesIn conformity with California Education Code 76370, Santa RosaJunior College has adopted a policy which permits the auditing ofclasses.Attending classes with the intent to audit without registering as anauditor is not permitted. Students may audit certain selected classesfor a fee of 15.00 per unit plus any additional course costs. Studentsregularly enrolled in 10 or more units may audit up to 3 units freeof charge.The following conditions must be met to audit a class:1. Auditors must be eligible for admission to college as regularlyenrolled students.2. Auditor status is allowed only if student has exhausted repeatpossibilities as a regular student.3. Auditor must meet the course prerequisite.4. Instructor must sign the Audit Registration Card (available atAdmissions and Records) to show approval for the student toattend class as an auditor on a space available basis.5. Auditors will be allowed to register only after the First Censusdate of the class.6. Auditors may NOT attend or participate until official enrollmentis secured after the First Census date of the class.7. Auditors may NOT change their status to regular student in theclass (or reverse).5

Terms and Definitions8. Once the auditor fee is paid, it will not be refunded.9. No transcript of record will be maintained.10. Credit will be granted to any student whosatisfactorily passes an examination approved or conducted byproper authorities of the College. Such credit maybe granted only toa student who is registered at the College and in good standing andonly for a course listed in the College Catalog. Students may obtaina Student Agreement & Application for Credit by Examinationform at the Department Office or Service Center for the particulardiscipline for which he/she is seeking to apply for Credit byExamination.
