A Message from the Music DirectorThe mission of the Lone Star College-University ParkMusic Department is to provide students with all of theopportunities of a university program at a fraction ofthe price. Our students have extensive performanceopportunities in selective, auditioned ensembles and aretaught in private lessons and studio classes by some of themost celebrated musicians and teachers in the region.Our coursework is rewarding and challenging and allcourses in the Associate of Arts degree in Music are fully transferable to anypublic four-year institution in Texas.While our program is very young (founded in 2017), we have alreadyseen our students go on to receive major scholarships, internships, andoffers of admission from some of the most prestigious music schools in andout of the state, including University of Houston’s Moores School of Music,University of North Texas, Berklee College of Music, and the New EnglandConservatory of Music.We offer courses for the new musician and the highly advanced musicianalike, including a music industry course unique to our campus.
