Chapter 1 – IntroductionYou have within you a hiddenpower a power so remarkable that itcan literally transform your life once youlearn how to properly use it. That poweris your subconscious mind. Most people tend to underestimatethe power of their subconscious mindbecause they don’t understand exactlywhat the subconscious mind is, or how itworks. You may have even been led tobelieve that the subconscious mind issomething strange or mysterious oreven taboo. In reality, though, thesubconscious mind is a normal andintegral part of the way your mindfunctions.

Still, make no mistake about it the subconscious mind is truly powerful.I call it a hidden power, because mostpeople don’t know how to use it. But inthis book, I’m going to show you how touse this hidden power to transform yourlife.Your subconscious mind can helpyou achieve goals, eliminate bad habitsand replace them with good ones, improve your self-image, be morecreative, become a faster learner, and somuch more. When you learn how toproperly utilize the power of yoursubconscious mind, you can experiencemore happiness and joy, more success, more financial abundance, better health, and stronger relationships than you ever

imagined possible. In this book, we’re going toexplore what the subconscious mind is,how it works, and how to work with it to reprogram it to be your partner increating the life you desire. But before we begin, let me offeran important clarification on somethingthat often confuses people. When we talkabout the conscious mind and thesubconscious mind, it’s important torealize that you have only ONE mind. But your one mind possesses twodistinct functionalities that are sodifferent, that psychologists have giventhem two names the conscious mindand the subconscious mind.

Throughout this book, I willrepeatedly refer to your conscious mindand your subconscious mind, but don’tlet that confuse you. These are simplythe two separate and distinct functions ofyour mind. One more thing before we getstarted. I want to personally invite youto subscribe to my free newsletterentitled Secrets of Dynamic Living.Actually, Secrets of Dynamic Living ismore than a newsletter it’s an onlinecommunity of more than 30,000members interested in living a healthy, abundant and dynamic life. Chapter 2 – The ConsciousMindBefore we can fully appreciate thepower of the subconscious mind, it’simportant to understand thecharacteristics of the “conscious” mind.Even though this book is about thepower of the subconscious mind, in noway do I mean to diminish the marvelousnature of the conscious mind, becausethe human conscious mind is anawesome and spectacular creation. The most basic description of yourconscious mind is that it’s the part ofyour mind you are aware of. It controlsyour voluntary thoughts and functions.

For example, right now I want you toraise your left hand in the air. That’s avoluntary function, which is controlledby your conscious mind. The conscious mind is also thelogical portion of your mind. It’s the partof your mind that has the ability to thinkthrough a situation logically, to analyzeit, and to make a decision based on thefacts. Likewise, when you evaluate pastmistakes and learn from them, that’s yourconscious mind at work. When you gothrough the process of setting goals forthe future, that’s another example of yourconscious mind at work.Sometimes you might hearsomeone say, “I made a consciousdecision to do that.” That’s the power of

the conscious mind. It gives us theability to consider the situation, evaluatethe facts, analyze the risks, anddetermine what we believe is the bestcourse of action. It also gives us theability to put together a thoughtful plan toimplement the course of action we havedecided upon. But as marvelous as the consciousmind is, it also has some inherentlimitations. For one thing, the conscious mindhas a limited memory. How often haveyou had trouble remembering someone’sname, or even remembering where youput your keys? Those are examples ofthe limited memory of the consciousmind.

Another limitation of theconscious mind is that it can do only onething at a time. If it tries to do more thanone thing at a time, it has to switch backand forth very rapidly. An example mightbe reading while someone is talking toyou. At any given instant, your consciousmind can focus on what you’re reading,or it can focus on listening to what’sbeing said to you. But it can’t focus onboth at the same time.As the word “conscious” implies, the conscious mind can’t do anything thatit’s not “consciously” focused on at anyspecific moment. And that’s where the subconsciousmind comes into play. So let’s switch

gears and look at the subconscious mindin the next chapter.

Chapter 3 – TheSubconscious MindWhereas the conscious mind isthat portion of your mind that you’reaware of, the portion of your mind thatyou are unaware of is called yoursubconscious mind. The subconscious mind is on duty24 hours a day, and it can handle anunlimited number of functions at thesame time. It’s like a computer runningin the background of your mind, constantly controlling your involuntaryfunctions, emotions and habits. Whetheryou are wide awake or sound asleep, your subconscious mind is continually at

work controlling all the vital functionsof your body, without the help of yourconscious mind. You don’t have to consciouslythink to breathe, to make your heart beat,to digest your food, to blink your eyes, and so on. Your subconscious mindhandles all of that for you around theclock, whether you are asleep or awake.Your subconscious mind is constantlycommunicating with every cell in yourbody, receiving input from those cells, and sending instructions to them. The subconscious mind alsohandles all of the routine tasks that youhad to learn through a painstakingprocess with your conscious mind.

A classic example is the task oflearning to drive a car. Think back towhen you first learned to drive a car. Atfirst, you had to think consciously abouteverything you did.I remember teaching my daughterto drive a few years ago. I had to saythings like “Now we’re going to turnright at the next street. I want you to takeyour foot off the gas now turn yourright blinker on . put your foot on thebrake . start turning the steering wheelto the right now straighten up thesteering wheel take your foot off thebrake and put it back on the gas.”In other words, she had toconsciously think and be consciouslyinstructed on every move to make. But

once she went through that consciouslearning process, neuro pathways wereformed in her brain, and gradually hersubconscious mind took over so shedidn’t have to consciously think aboutevery movement or action. And today, she’s an excellentdriver, and most of her driving is totallycontrolled by her subconscious mind. The same process applies to mostof the things you have consciouslylearned to do riding a bike, tying yourshoes, swimming, you name it. These areall examples of things you had to learnhow to do consciously, through apainstaking process, but once you wentthrough that conscious process, thesubconscious mind took over, and now

you can do those things withoutconsciously thinking about them. The reason your subconsciousmind learned to do those things isbecause you did them repetitivelythrough your conscious mind. Repetitionis one of the keys for programming thesubconscious mind. (Remember theimportance of “repetition”, becausewe’ll come back to it later in the book.)Here are some othercharacteristics of the subconscious mind.I mentioned in the previouschapter that the conscious mind is thelogical part of your mind. Well, thesubconscious mind is the “emotional”part of your mind. It is the source of all

of our emotions, including love, hatred, happiness, sadness, jealousy, envy, angerand joy. Just like repetition, emotion isalso one of the keys for reprogrammingthe subconscious mind.Another thing I mentioned in theprevious chapter about the consciousmind is that the conscious mind has alimited memory. But that’s not the casewith the subconscious mind. Thesubconscious mind has a virtuallyunlimited memory. In fact, everythingyou have experienced in your life (fromthe moment you were born) is present inthe memory bank of your subconsciousmind including every sight you haveever seen, every sound you have everheard, and every emotion you have ever

experienced. They are all stored in yoursubconscious mind. And that brings me to the functionof the subconscious mind that will be theprimary focus of this book The subconscious mind is whereyou hold deep-seeded beliefs aboutyourself, including whether you seeyourself as talented or untalented, intelligent or unintelligent, successful orunsuccessful, deserving of love orundeserving of love, just to name a few. These deep-seeded beliefs aboutyourself are the result of all of yourlife’s experiences, including yourchildhood experiences. And this is important, because as

adults, we often hold many negative selfconcepts and beliefs in our subconsciousminds that were developed in ourchildhood years. Children often havecruel things said to them, and thesethings are easily implanted into thesubconscious mind of a child, and oftenremain there for life. These cruel statements made tochildren may be said by classmates, siblings, or even parents and teachers. Here are some examples:You’re fatYou’re uglyYou’re stupidYou’re lazyYou’ll never amount to anythingYou can’t do anything right

I could go on and on, but you getthe idea. When statements like these aresaid to a child repeatedly and withemotion, these negative beliefs areeasily programmed deeply into thechild’s subconscious mind, and thesubconscious mind accepts thesenegative statements as facts. And it’s not just childhoodexperiences that can negatively programyour subconscious mind. Negative adultexperiences can do the same thing. Andregardless of when the negativeprogramming occurs, the effects on yourlife can be dramatic. Here’s why The beliefs about yourself that you

hold deep in your subconscious mindhave a tremendous effect on the realityyou experience in your life. If you holdnegative beliefs about yourself at thesubconscious level, you will tend toexperience negative realities in yourlife. If you hold positive beliefs aboutyourself, you will tend to experiencepositive realities in your life. That’s because your reality willultimately match the subconscious imageyou have of yourself. Let me repeat thatstatement, because it’s such a criticalpoint. Your reality will ultimatelymatch the subconscious image youhave of yourself. Here’s how it works. Earlier I

said that your subconscious mindcontrols your involuntary functions. Thatapplies not only to things like yourbreathing and heart rate, but also to youractions and behaviors. And it controlsthese actions and behaviors according tothe subconscious beliefs you have aboutyourself.Let me give you a few examples:- If you have a deep subconscious beliefthat you are stupid, your subconsciousmind will cause you to do things thatmake you look stupid.- If you have a subconscious belief thatyou are destined to be poor or that you

don’t deserve to be wealthy, yoursubconscious mind will cause you tomishandle money, or to be drawn towardcircumstances that keep you poor, because that’s where your comfort levelis.- If you subconsciously believe that youare unlovable, your subconscious mindwill cause you to push people away orto sabotage your relationships.- If you subconsciously believe you areunhealthy or that you will experiencehealth problems, your subconsciousmind will cause your immune system notto function properly, and you will getsick.

I could go on and on withexamples, but I hope you’re beginning toget the picture. The subconscious selfimage you have of yourself determinesyour reality. So if you’re not happy withyour reality today, you need to changeyour subconscious self-image.Once you transform these deepseeded negative subconscious beliefsinto positive ones, your reality willchange accordingly. That is the “hidden”power of the subconscious mind, andthat’s what we’re going to be addressingin this book.William James, the father ofAmerican psychology said, “Thegreatest revolution in our generation is

the discovery that human beings, bychanging the inner attitudes of theirminds, can change the outer aspects ofthe lives”.He’s right, except that it’s not anew concept. Consider what Solomonsaid some 3,000 years ago “As a manthinketh in his heart, so is he”.The Bible also tells us that we areto be “Transformed by the renewing ofour minds”.So this is not a new idea. This is auniversal truth that has been around forthousands of years. The problem is, weoften don’t do a good job of making thisuniversal truth work for us.My goal in writing this book is to

help you put this universal truth to workfor you so you can transform your lifeinto the life you desire. And in the nextchapter, I’m going to tell you how to doit.

Chapter 4 –Reprogramming YourSubconscious MindBy now, I hope you understand theimportance of ridding your subconsciousmind of negative beliefs and selfimages, and replacing them with positivebeliefs and self-images. But how do youdo that? There are actually a number ofmethods for reprogramming thesubconscious mind, but the approach I’mgoing to share with you in this book iswhat I believe to be the simplest andmost direct method of reprogrammingyour subconscious mind.

In fact, this process is so simple, you may be tempted to think it won’twork. But I can tell you from personalexperience this works! And if youhave any doubts that it will work, I havetwo words of advice for you TRY IT.Try it for six months, and then compareyour life at the end of that six monthperiod to what your life is like rightnow. Once you do that, I’m confidentyou’ll be a believer in the process. This approach involvesdeveloping a series of positiveaffirmations (utilizing your “conscious”mind), writing those affirmations downon paper, and then going through adeliberate process to imbed thoseaffirmations in your subconscious mind.

As your new affirmations areaccepted by your subconscious mind, they replace the old negative beliefspreviously held by your subconsciousmind. And as this happens, your realitywill begin to change to match the newself-image held by the subconsciousmind.Remember, your reality willultimately match the subconscious imageyou have of yourself. Now, let’s take a look at theprocess The first thing you want to do is sitdown with a pencil and a pad of paper, and start designing the life you want. Theway you do that is by writing down a

series of affirmations that describe youand your life “exactly as you want it tobe”.You can include all aspects ofyour life your finances, your health, your relationships, your charitablegiving, your spirituality, the home youlive in, the car you drive, your lifestyle, being a loving and giving person, howmuch you travel, where you travel, yourcareer, and on and on.In other words, design your lifeexactly as you want it to be.How many affirmations should youwrite down? There’s no magic number, but I’m going to suggest that you startwith about a dozen. I recommend this

number because it’s a large enoughnumber to enable you to address severalaspects of your life but it’s also asmall enough number that you can prettyeasily commit the affirmations tomemory, which will prove helpful, asyou will see.I don’t want to try to create youraffirmations for you, because they needto come from you. But sometimes peoplehave trouble getting started with thisprocess. So let me give you someexample affirmations to get your creativejuices flowing. Some examples might be:- I own a successful business.

- I travel extensively to wonderfuldestinations.- I live in my dream home.- I own a beautiful houseboat.- I am blessed with a wonderful family.- I have a happy and successfulmarriage.- I am a loving wife (husband).- I am a loving mother (father).- Money flows naturally to me inabundance.- I have more than enough money.- I give generously to worthwhilecharities.- I am blessed with excellent health.- My immune system keeps me in a stateof constant wellness.- I enjoy exercise.

- I easily maintain my perfect weight.- I enjoy eating healthy foods- I have an abundance of friends.- I am kind, loving and compassionate.- I am a dedicated and loyal friend.- I am filled with love and compassionfor others.- I am deeply loved by my family andfriends.- I bring happiness to others. Those are just some examples. The key is to design the life that YOUwant and to create the person that YOUwant to be.But even though affirmations listedabove are just examples, I want you tonotice two important things about them.

First, they are all in the presenttense. Always write your affirmations inthe present tense, as if you have alreadyachieved them. The subconscious mindonly lives in the present tense, so youraffirmations MUST be phrased in thepresent tense. If your goal is to write abook, you might say “I am a bestsellingauthor”, rather than “I will write a booknext year.”Second, they are all “positive”.Negative words should not be includedin your affirmations. Some psychologistsbelieve that the subconscious minddoesn’t see or hear negative words like“not”. So if you say “I am not afraid”,your subconscious mind may hear that as“I am afraid”. So instead, say something

positive like “I am confident andcourageous.”Don’t worry if it takes some timeto come up with your list. It’s okay tospend several days writing and refiningyour list of affirmations. The process ofcoming up with your affirmations is apowerful process in its own right, because it requires you to decide whatyou really want your life to look like. It’s also okay to revise your listfrom time to time. In fact, that’s probablya good sign that the process is working, because it means you are gaining greaterclarity on exactly what you want in life.If you find that one of your affirmationsno longer rings true for you, simplyremove it or revise it. And add new ones

whenever you want to.Now, once you have developedyour list of affirmations, what do you dowith it?This is where it gets reallyexciting, because now you begin theprocess of imbedding these affirmationsin your subconscious mind. And here’s how you do it Twice a day, simply relax, clearyour mind, and focus on the affirmationson your list. Visualize yourself asalready having these traits and alreadyhaving achieved these goals. Seeyourself in action doing those activitiesand being that person.

It’s up to you to decide when youspend time with your list, but it’s oftenbeen said that first thing in the morningand just before you go to sleep at nightare two excellent times, because thesubconscious seems to be particularlyreceptive to new suggestions duringthose times.Regardless of when you do it, it’simportant to put yourself in a veryrelaxed state when you review youraffirmations, because relaxation opensthe door to the subconscious mind. Whenyou quiet your mind and relax, thethoughts and images you focus on sinkdown into the subconscious mind.So here’s what you want to do

Twice a day, find a comfortable, quiet spot. It can be sitting down or lyingdown, whichever you prefer. (It caneven be in bed late at night and firstthing in the morning.) Until you haveyour affirmations memorized, it maymake more sense to be sitting up,because you’ll probably need to readyour affirmations, and that’s easier to dowhen sitting. But eventually, you’llcommit your affirmations to memory, andreading won’t be necessary.Once you get in a comfortableposition, take a few deep breaths. Reallyfocus on slow, deep exhales. With eachexhale, consciously relax every musclein your body. Allow your body to go abit limp. After you take that last deep

breath, spend a few seconds to reallyfocus on relaxing the muscles in yourbody.Once you feel totally relaxed, simply begin reciting your affirmations. You can say them out loud, or you cansimply say them silently in your mind. You can read them with your eyes open,or you can close your eyes and recitethem from memory. As you recite each affirmation, you also want to visualize eachaffirmation as being already true. Createa visual image in your mind of yourselfas already having these traits and havingachieved these goals. This visualizationis critical to the success of the process.Your subconscious mind doesn’t know

real from imagined. It will accept as realthe things you visualize, so let yourimagination really run free as youvisualize your affirmations. You should also elaborate on thewording of each affirmation, and add asmuch detail as needed to really “feel” it.You want the affirmation to elicit anemotional response. It’s not enough tosay it you want to feel it! Thesubconscious is the emotional part ofyour mind, so you must use emotionwhen programming your subconsciousmind. For example, if your writtenaffirmation is “I live in my dreamhome”, feel free to add more detail asyou recite it, and say something like, “I

live in my dream home overlooking theocean. It brings me great happiness tosit on my balcony and watch the wavescrash in on the shore and to smell theocean air.”And as you say these words, create a mental picture. See yourselfsitting on the balcony of your dreamhome overlooking the ocean andwatching the waves roll in, and smellingthe ocean air.Let’s look at another example Suppose you have a writtenaffirmation that says “I successfully runa marathon”. You might add some detailas you recite it, and say something like“I feel exhilarated as I cross the finish

line of the marathon. My friends andfamily are there cheering me on for thisaccomplishment.”And as you recite the words, visualize yourself crossing the finish linewith your hands raised in the air, andyour friends and family standing therecheering for you. Feel the excitementand the sense of accomplishment.By adding the visualization, detailand emotion to your affirmation, yousupercharge your affirmation. Thisdramatically increases the speed andeffectiveness with which the affirmationis imbedded in your subconscious mind. After you have finished goingthrough your affirmations, simply take a

deep breath, open your eyes, and goabout your business. (Or if it’s bedtime, you can simply drift off to sleep afteryou complete your review of youraffirmations.)There is no set amount of time tospend each time you do this process.Sometimes you’ll do it very quickly, injust a couple of minutes, and other timesyou’ll get deeply involved in the processand spend several minutes or maybe halfhour on it. It’s up to you. Do what feelsright to you each time.Get in the habit of doing this acouple of times a day. Make it a part ofyour daily routine, just like brushingyour teeth and eating your meals. It justsimply becomes something you do each

day. This is important because of theprinciple of repetition. Whenprogramming the subconscious mind, itis necessary to repeat the conditioningoften until the new belief is totallyaccepted by the subconscious mind.It is critical that you stick with theprocess until your affirmations aretotally accepted by the subconsciousmind. That’s because the subconsciousmind cannot hold two competing beliefsat the same time. For example, your subconsciousmind will either believe that you areintelligent or that you are unintelligent. Itwill not accept both. So if your pastprogramming has implanted the beliefthat you are unintelligent, that’s what

your subconscious mind will believeuntil you override that belief and implantyour subconscious mind with the beliefthat you are intelligent. Once thesubconscious mind accepts the newbelief, it will begin acting according tothe new belief.Once you start the process ofreprogramming your subconscious mind, some inexplicable changes will begin totake place in your life. These changessometimes occur quickly anddramatically, but often they occur slowlyand gradually. In fact, sometimes theyoccur so naturally and gradually that youwon’t even notice them as they occur. But rest assured that the changes areoccurring.

Here are the kinds of changes youcan expect to see you will gain moreconfidence you will begin to believethat you are capable of accomplishingyour goals you will begin to seeyourself as already being the person youwish to become you will begin to takethe action steps necessary to accomplishyour goals.Keep a positive attitude, even ifresults don’t seem to be occurring asquickly as you want them to. Also, it’simportant to “expect” the changes tooccur in your life. Expectation is a selffulfilling prophecy when you givecommands to your subconscious mind. When the subconscious mind expectssomething, it makes that thing happen.

As your subconscious mindaccepts these new beliefs, it’s alsoimportant to take “conscious” stepstoward your goals as well. For instance, earlier I used the example that one ofyour affirmations might be “Isuccessfully run a marathon.” In thisexample, as you embed this affirmationinto your subconscious mind, you wouldalso want to consciously take thenecessary steps to prepare for amarathon. You would start researchingmarathon races in your area and decidewhich one you want to run in. You wouldput together a training plan and atimetable to move you toward this goal.In this way, your subconscious mind andconscious mind work together to move

you toward your goals. So as you follow this process ofimbedding these new beliefs in yoursubconscious mind, continually askyourself what steps you can be taking ona conscious basis to move yourself in thedirection of your goals. As you do this, you will find a renewed confidence thatyou can achieve and accomplish everysingle one of your affirmations.Commit to this process for sixmonths, and then take a look at thechanges that have occurred in your life.Once you do this, I think you’llunderstand the power of this process.

Chapter 5 – UsingTechnology to ReprogramYour Subconscious MindIn the previous chapter, Idescribed what I believe is one of themost simple, direct, and powerfulmethods for reprogramming yoursubconscious mind and creating the lifeyou desire. I firmly believe that if youfollow the approach outlined in theprevious chapter, you will be able tosuccessfully transform the deep-seededbeliefs of your subconscious mind andcreate the life you desire. In this chapter, I want to sharewith you a technology that follows the

same basic approach that I outlined inthe previous chapter, except that it“automates” the process. So instead ofgoing through the twice-daily process offocusing on your affirmations, yousimply watch a short video a couple oftimes a day on your computer, or youriPad, or your smart phone, or any othersimilar device. The technology is called MindMovies, and it takes the positiveaffirmations you created in the previouschapter, and combines those affirmationswith pictures and music that you select. The end result is a short video or moviepersonalized to reflect the life of YOURdreams. You simply watch your Mind

Movie a couple of times a day, and yoursubconscious mind soaks up theseaffirmations and images, and goes towork reprogramming your subconsciousmind. Remember, as I’ve said severaltimes in this book, your reality willultimately match the subconscious imageyou have of yourself. By using yourMind Movie to improve yoursubconscious self-image, you are alsolaying the foundation for creating the lifeyou desire. Some people like to use MindMovies in addition to the processdescribed in the previous chapter, whileothers use Mind Movies as their onlytool for reprogramming theirsubconscious mind.

I have used Mind Moviesextensively myself, and I can tell youwithout reservation, it’s absolutely oneof the most powerful tools I’ve everused. And the technology is very simpleto use. If you can use a mouse and akeyboard, you can create your very ownpersonal Mind Movie. It’s also veryaffordable, making it within the reach ofvirtually anyone. If you’d like to know more aboutMind Movies, I created a special pageon my website where I’ve posted asample Mind Movie I made for you, aswell as information on how you cancreate your own Mind Movie. If you’re reading this eBook on adevice that allows you to watch videos,

you can simply click on the link belowto visit the page and watch the video.Otherwise, you can type the link intoyour computer or other video-capabledevice to watch it.Here’s the link:SecretsOfDynamicLiving.com/MindMovieOf course, the use of the MindMovies technology is totally optional. Ifyou prefer to use only the processdescribed in Chapter 4, that is perfectlyfine and effective. It’s really a matter ofpersonal preference. I’ve used bothapproaches, and I can personally assureyou that either approach is highlyeffective.

Chapter 6 – The Role ofPrayer in ReprogrammingYour Subconscious MindIn this chapter, we’re going to bediscussing the role that prayer plays inshaping and programming yoursubconscious mind.Obviously, this chapter is gearedtoward persons of faith. If you’re not aperson of faith, I hope you won’t be putoff by this chapter. The other approacheswe’ve discussed in this book will stillwork for you in repr

learn how to properly use it. That power is your subconscious mind. Most people tend to underestimate the power of their subconscious mind because they don't understand exactly what the subconscious mind is, or how it works. You may have even been led to believe that the subconscious mind is something strange or mysterious or even taboo.
