If, within the term of your warranty,your carpet becomes stained by a food, beveragespill, pet urine or soiled and you cannot removethe stain or soil using the recommended cleaningprocedures in the Lowe’s Carpet Care Guide, contactthe appropriate manufacturer for assistance.If the stain or soil cannot be removed, Lowe’s willprovide a comparable replacement carpet for theaffected area only (and adjacent areas extending tothe nearest wall, doorway or entrance) with identicalcarpet, or carpet of comparable cost.If replacement is authorized, you will not beresponsible for paying for labor and disposal costsfor the carpet. All replacements must be completedwithin six months of the first report of the stain to theappropriate manufacturer. Replacement cushion isnot included.In some instances, non-permanent stains mayreappear after removal due to wicking or residual resoiling. This documentationmust be provided within sixty (60) days of the homesale. INVISTA will then provide the new homeownerwith a written authorization transferring the warrantycoverage. This change applies to all STAINMASTER carpet warranties. These warranties do not apply to rugs or to boundcarpet. These limited warranties exclude carpet which hasbeen put into commercial use. These limited warrantiesalso exclude abnormal use or conditions, any type ofabuse, vandalism, or damage by smoke, fire, storm,flood, hurricane, wind, lightning, any other naturaldisaster or any act of God. “Commercial use” includes,but is not limited to, use in a store, office or other placeof business. “Abnormal use or conditions” includes,but is not limited to, water damage from plumbing,storm or flood, damage from smoke or fire, damagefrom improper cleaning methods or materials, andfrom improper maintenance. “Abuse” is any use of thecarpet that is unreasonable considering the normal andexpected uses of a carpet in a residence.
