CEG Deep Rock Tunnel Work affected pedestrian and vehicle detour forbridge set date – Full closure of 38th Street fromFriday night to Monday morning Initial contact/coordination with CEG abouttheir completion date Once Bridge set date was known – coordinationwith CEG’s contractor – they had the detourroute vehicle assessable and dropped theirdetour signs the morning our detour was to bein affect Our detour was set up that night

Indiana StateFairgrounds State Fair cancelled, but there were still eventsthat were affected – adjusted material deliverydates as needed Coordinated with Mecum Auction the samenight as detour – revised closures / ISF providedspecific signage and traffic control at entrance

Drilled Shaft Testing CIB called for compressive testing – nottypical for INDOT projects 7 and 28 breaks in sets (contractor wantedspare set) 6 cylinders per shaft OMM did not have room/staff forstorage/curing

Cylinder machine at OMM Coordinated with District for tub and heater Coordinated with DLZ testing department fortips and procedures Spare testing equipment on site

Coordinated with contractor while pouring toensure constant flow to the pump Coordinated with OMM to conduct testing oncylinders Key – communication and networking This cooperation continued throughout theremainder of the project with other concretetesting

Bridge set date(Closure of38th Street) The contract allowed 38th Street to be closed from Friday at 9:00 PMto Monday 6:00 AM All concrete items had passing breaks for Piers 3 and 4 All required testing on Bolts, Washers, Nuts, deck pans, bearing padscompleted prior to bridge delivery Review and re-reviewed of MOT plans – added additionalbarricades/signage to protect workers Communication with emergency services – direct contact with firedepartment – provided detour map to fire department

Single lane traffic to allow bridge assemblyseveral days before set date Verification of all bolts tightened using the“turn of the nut” method CEG work complete for detour On site while detour was set up, minoradjustments – ran detour several times in bothdirections to ensure it “worked” Overall coordination and contractor’s workresulted in the detour only being in place from9:00 PM Friday to 1:00 PM Saturday.
