The Middle Eastcontinues to rage, as do manyparts of Africa and Asia withnumerous lesser known wars.There are a multitude ofongoing wars on the domesticfront as well — between liberalsand conservatives, labor andmanagement, etc. — not tomention the racial tensionsthat have escalated to renewedheights over the last few years.DBM NL Nov-Dec 14 2theLaw of the Spirit ofConflicts of everykind pervade thisworld — all the result ofman’s departure from God’soriginal design for him.But there are also conflictsthat surround the believer.Internal conflict —whether financial,physical, marital, orbetween parents andchildren — manytimes bring “war”right into manyliving rooms.Of all thedangers and troublewe face, however,the greatest conflictof all is the war thatrages between lightand darkness — betweenlife and death.As you know, it all beganin the Garden of Eden andhas continued to this day. Inthe garden, Satan came todeceive Eve and introduceher to death and separationfrom God. When she andAdam stepped out of thelight of God’s blessing,they fell headlong into thedarkness of spiritual death.At that moment the glory ofGod’s presence within themdeparted, revealing theirnakedness.10/9/14 11:11 AM

He has madeyou free! Although our sinshave robbed us of the kind offreedom God has given us, wedon’t have to be without Hisfreedom for another moment.Realize this: The word for“sin” is from a compound wordin the original Greek, the firstpart meaning negative andthe second part meaning anallotted portion. Sin thereforerepresents anything that robsyou of your allotted portion,which is the true measure ofyour life. When He saw theirneeds He was moved withcompassion healing the sickand feeding the hungry.1When Jesus’ response toJohn’s murder was to do goodto others in need,He demonstratedto us the mosteffective way toretaliate for what the devildoes to us. You can adopt thisoffensive strategy to scorepoints against the devil bygetting out there and doingsomething good.In fact, you don’t have towait for the devil to attackand then try to counter himby suppressing your fleshlyreactions. She’s always bringingGod’s goodness on the scene—and I’ve been the beneficiary ofit more than once.I’ll never forget what shedid for me one day back in1997. My first book, AimYour Child Like An Arrow,had just been published. Icould hardly contain myexcitement.
