by KennethCopelandTAKEHIMAT HISWORDJesus doesn’t heal on a case-by-casebasis.Did you know that?He doesn’t have to decide every timesomeone comes to Him whether it’sHis will to heal them or not.No, as far as He’s concerned, healingis a done deal. It’s His will for everyone,all the time, because it’s one of thethings the Father expressly sent Himto the earth to do.You can see this by how Heresponded to people in the Gospels.In Matthew 8, when the lepercame to Him and said, “Lord, if thouwilt, thou canst make me clean,” Jesusdidn’t say, “I’ll have to think about itand get back to you later.” He didn’thave to have a conversation with theman to find out about his situation. Hejust put forth his hand, and touchedhim, saying, “I will; be thou clean”(verses 2-3).He responded the same way tothe Roman centurion. When hecame to Jesus and said, “Lord, myservant lieth at home sick of the palsy,grievously tormented,” Jesus answeredimmediately, without hesitation: “I willcome and heal him” (verses 6-7).Even when He was ministering togreat multitudes of sick people, Jesusexpressed that kind of willingness.He didn’t say no to any of them. InMatthew 12:15, He healed the wholemultitude. He hasn’t changed sincethen either. He’s “the same yesterday,and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews13:8). He’s still saying to everyone whocomes to Him what He said in theGospels.“I will heal you. I will!”“But Brother Copeland, I don’t feelvery deserving. I’ve messed up prettybadly in my life.”So? But that didn’t stopJesus from healing them—and it won’tstop Him from healing you.Like all the rest of us, you’ll alwayshave areas in your life where you could dobetter. You’ll always have more growingto do. But that doesn’t change Jesus onebit. Regardless of your shortcomings,when you come to Him for healing, Healways says, “I will!”That means you should be saying it,too!You should never contradict whatHe says. You should never get into theposition where He’s sayingone thing and you’re sayingsomething else. If He said, “Iwill heal you,” then you, too,should be saying with greatboldness, “He will!”What will happen as youdo that?You’ll start believing Jesus’words more than your oldundeserving feelings. You’llbecome so confident in Hiswill that when someone asks if you reallythink God is going to heal you, you cananswer without even having to think:“Of course! If God was going to healanyone on earth, it would be me. He saidHe will! John 17:23 says He loves me asmuch as He loves Jesus. He could neversay no to healing me!”“Well,” someone might say, “that’s justbeing arrogant.”No, it’s not. It’s believing and agreeingwith the Bible. It’s the way faith talks.Faith takes God at His WORD. Ittakes the kind of attitude the centurionhad in Matthew 8. He believed Jesus socompletely when He said He’d comeheal his sick servant, that he told Jesusnot to even bother coming to his house.“Speak the word only,” he said, “and myservant shall be healed” (verse 8).How did Jesus react to those words?“He marvelled, and said to them thatfollowed, Verily I say unto you, I havenot found so great faith, no, not in Israel”(verse 10).What happenedto Jesus downthere in thatpit? The WORDhappened!
SALVATIONPRAYERJust Give Me aMustard Seed of FaithJesus marveled at some people onanother occasion too, but for the oppositereason. When He went and preached tothe people of Nazareth, “He marvelledbecause of their unbelief ” (Mark 6:6).Talk about a sad situation! Jesusloved those people. Nazareth was Hishometown and He wanted to ministerhealing there perhaps even more thanHe did everywhere else. Yet the Biblesays in verse 5, “He could there do nomighty work.”Notice, it wasn’t that He wouldn’t doany mighty work. He couldn’t because oftheir unbelief (Matthew 13:58).This is why everywhere Jesus wentHe was always looking for faith. Faithis the connector! It connects people tothe power and BLESSING of God, andthat’s what Jesus came to earth to bring.He came to heal and deliver. He cameto do miracles and save. He didn’t comehere to put people down. He came toraise us up! So, He’s always looking fora connection somewhere. His heartbeatis always, Someone, just believe Me a little.Someone, just give Me a mustard seed offaith with which to work. I can get ridof the mountains in your life, if you’ll justbelieve and speak My WORD.What’s so special about God’sWORD?For one thing, it’s what causes faithto come. For another, it’s the seed ofGod’s power! God doesn’t do anythingwithout His WORD. It can do anything He can do.The WORD of God was what raisedJesus from the dead—and that’s thegreatest demonstration of God’s powerrecorded in the Bible! It required morepower even than the creation of theuniverse. No one was opposing God atCreation, but at the Resurrection, all thepowers of hell were arrayed against Him.Just think about it. Not only hadJesus’ physical body been crucified, notonly had all the sickness and disease ofthe whole world come upon His flesh,He’d absorbed the sin of all mankindinto His spirit. He’d died spiritually,been completely cut off from God, anddescended into the depths of hell tosuffer in our place.The devil and his bunch thought theyhad won. They thought they would beable to keep Jesus’ sin-deadened spiritcaptive forever. But to their shock,the moment the full price for ourRedemption had been paid, God said,“Enough!” His voice exploded into thatfoul place as He said to Jesus the wordsrecorded in Hebrews 1:5: “Thou art mySon, this day have I begotten thee”!With those words, the power ofGod hit Jesus’ spirit like a bolt oflightning. He was born again, “spoiledprincipalities and powers, he made ashow of them openly, triumphing overthem in it” (Colossians 2:15), and wentroaring out of hell as the victoriousLion of the tribe of Judah, King ofkings, and Lord of lords.What triggered it all? What happenedto Jesus down there in that pit? TheWORD happened!If The WORD could do that, canyou imagine what it can do in yourlife? In the healing of your body? Thedeliverance of your mind? The saving ofyour family? One word from God canchange everything for you!It can heal you and deliver you justas easily as it did the daughter of theSyrophoenician woman in Matthew 15.When that woman asked Jesus to castthe devil out of her daughter, and Jesusfinally got her to release her faith, Hechanged her life with one short sentence.He said, “Be it unto thee even as thouwilt. And her daughter was made wholefrom that very hour” (verse 28).Most of the time, that’s about all Godhas to say to change any situation webring to Him. He doesn’t have to go onand on. He can just say, “Be it unto youaccording to your faith.” Or, “Get up andgo about your business. You’re well!”“Brother Copeland, that just soundstoo simple.”It is simple when you do it God’sway. What makes things complicatedis when we try to do it our way. Whenwe get focused on our feelings onIf you do not know Jesusas your Savior and Lord,simply pray t
