Most are available with a clear coatingthat protects against damaging environmental factors, including sea air, high humidity, or corrosive vapors.The antimicrobial coating on Schlage AL-Series locks works to protect the hardware’s surface by inhibiting the growth ofbacteria, mold and mildew. The coating is made using ionic silver (AG ), a single atom that is missing one orbital electron thatinteracts with the bonding sites on the microbe surface.
