Outdoor Air Design ChallengesThe models RV and RVE have been specifically designed to meet the challenges of introducing highpercentages of outdoor air into a building. Features included in the units minimize energy consumption, control outdoor air volume, and maintain high levels of indoor air quality - ideal for ventilation applicationsin which the supply air volume consists of 20% or more outdoor air.SolutionDesign Challenge: Conditioning High Percentagesof Outdoor Air with Minimal Energy Usage High capacity (6-row) cooling coil: Provides proper dehumidification for a widerange of outdoor air conditions. (optional) Energy recovery wheel to precondition the outdoor air: Mechanicalheating and cooling equipment capacity reduction; reduced mechanical heatingand cooling energy consumption. (optional) Modulating hot gas reheat coil: Reheats dehumidified air to preventovercooling the space. (optional) Variable capacity compressor: Modulates DX cooling system to matchthe required load for precise temperature control and saves operational energy. (optional) High turndown indirect gas-fired furnace: Provides accuratetemperature control during heating operations, seamless modulation to eliminate“dead bands” and decreases furnace cycling. (optional) Modulating head pressure control: Improves reheat performance atpart load conditions.SolutionDesign Challenge: Controlling Outdoor Air Volume Low leakage outdoor air and recirculated air dampers with modulating actuator:Provides energy saving control sequences and simplified air balancing. Factory mounted and wired microprocessor controller: Proven control sequenceswith easy set point adjustment and seamless integration to BMS systems. Energy efficient control sequences (economizer, demand control ventilation, outdoor airflow monitoring): Economizer - maximizes free cooling; demandcontrol ventilation - adjusts outdoor airflow to match building occupancy; airflowmonitoring - stand-alone monitoring system to ensure proper ventilation and meetLEED requirements. Direct drive backward-curved plenum fan with factory mounted VFD: Providesprecise airflow control via modulating fan speed; fast and simple airflowadjustment; eliminates belt losses and maintenance.SolutionDesign Challenge: Critical Sound Applications Low sound condenser fans: Offer a sound power reduction on average of5-8 decibels when compared to standard condenser fans resulting in perceivedsound levels being reduced by up to 50%. (optional) Electronically commutated (EC) motor: Provides increased systemefficiency and provides additional sound power reduction at part load conditions.Model Number CodeThe Model Number Code isdesigned to completely identifythe unit. Controls &Dimensional DataMicroprocessorThe models RV and RVE include a microprocessor controller that is factoryprogrammed, wired and tested prior to shipment. The controller can operatestand-alone or integrate with a Building Management System (BMS) usingBACnet MS/TP or IP, LonWorks or Modbus RTU protocols. This controlleris responsible for operating the unit in a safe and energy efficient manner whilecontrolling temperature and humidity.Control Features: LCD displayBuilt-in keypad for easy set point adjustmentIntegral 7-day time clockNight setback optionAuto changeover based on outdoor air conditionsHeating and cooling temperature lockoutsBuilding freeze protectionOptional remote interface for service convenienceRoom temperature and humidity controlOptional Control Sequences:Energy Wheel Frost ControlPrevents frost buildup on the energy wheel in climatesthat have cold outdoor winter temperatures (typicallyless than -10ºF) and/or moist indoor conditions suchas a locker room. Available options are: Timed exhaust - Cycles supply blower to melt frostwith only warm return air. Electric preheat - Preheats outdoor air to avoidfrosting. Modulate wheel - Reduces the wheel speed toincrease the time exposed in the warm, return air.Energy Wheel Economizer ControlWhen the outdoor air conditions are favorable, thecontroller will allow for economizer operation. The unitwill increase outdoor airflow to achieve free coolingby adjusting the energy wheel operation to: Stop wheel - Energy wheel rotation will stopand outdoor air can be brought into the buildingunconditioned. Modulate wheel - Energy wheel speed willmodulate to maintain a leaving wheel temperatureof 55ºF (adjustable).Fan Control Constant volume - Provides a constant volumeof supply air to meet the space ventilationrequirements. Variable volume - Varies the supply air to thespace via a factory mounted and wired variablefrequency drive. The required amount of supply aircan be determined by a variety of external factorssuch as duct pressure. Demand control - The supply air volume (100%outdoor air application) is modulated based onbuilding occupancy as determined by a factoryprovided CO2 sensor.Weights and DimensionsUnitSizeNominalHeight ng 0-45906815622/27 2020-45906822422/27 308300OutdoorSupplyIntake deBottom,End**orSide*End orSide*EndBottomorSideBottomSideAll dimensions are shown in inches.
