When you need help.18th Annual Pinellas ParkFirefighter’s Chili BlazeRep DeLoach, Joe Murphy andRyan McDonnell “stirring the pot”On March 17, the law firm and Seminole Title Company had agreat time serving up Kathy Carpenter’s winning chili recipe atthe 18th Annual Pinellas Park Firefighter’s Chili Blaze. The “Blaze”was held at England Brothers Park. There were over 40 teamscompeting with different types of chili, and the event raised nearly 15,000! Every dollar raised goes to the Muscular DystrophyAssociation of Tampa Bay which means the funds raised remainin the Tampa Bay area. The money helps children attend summercamp, provides them with medical equipment they may not beable to afford, and provides them with a better quality of life.We hope you can join us next year for this fun and meaningfulevent. It was niceto meet and get to know members of our new community. ThePinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce brought Parkerthe Dolphin along for photo opportunities. He’s one of morethan 200 6-foot dolphins, including one in Washington, D.C.The dolphins are inspired by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium’sWinter the Dolphin, star of the movies “Dolphin Tale” and“Dolphin Tale 2.” Parker the Dolphin is mounted at ParkStation in Pinellas Park and the Chamber encourages visitorsto stop by to take a selfie with Parker, who has his own hashtag,#Parkerthedolphin. MurphyReal Estate and Civil Litigation AttorneyFAQs: Landlord/Tenant LawMy tenant at a residential propertyis late on their rent, what can I do?Residential tenancies are governed byChapter 83, Part II, Florida Statutes. Inthe event your tenant fails to timely makea rental payment, a 3-day notice shouldbe provided to your tenant demandingpayment of rent or possession of thepremises. Should your tenant fail to complywith the 3-day notice, you may terminatethe rental agreement. Should your tenantfail to vacate the premises upon such atermination, an eviction proceeding maybe filed in county court where the rentalproperty is located. It is important to notethat the form and delivery of the 3-daynotice must comply with the specificrequirements set forth in Chapter 83.If I must file a lawsuit to evictmy tenant, may I recover for myattorney’s fees expended?Generally, to recover attorney’s fees inlitigation there must either be a contractualor statutory right to same. Chapter 83,Florida Statutes provides for recovery ofprevailing party attorney’s fees in certaincircumstances. Drain.Put all ingredients in crock pot andstir well. Cook on high for 3–4 hoursor cook on low for 7–8 hours.
