Is a career as a Registered Nurse for you? You must have a strong sense of responsibility and an interest in the health and well- being ofindividuals, families and communities. You must have strong interpersonal, academic, technical and problem-solving skills; and the abilityto function both independently and as part of a team. You must recognize that the profession is both physically and mentally demanding and thatregistered nurses must be able to cope well in stressful environments. You must be able to respond professionally and knowledgeably to trauma, surgicalprocedures, and human suffering. You must have physical fitness—including good eyesight and hearing— andmental acuity. You must be competent in written and oral English, be able to accurately followwritten instructions, and understand fast paced verbal directions. Computer fluency is required during the program and eventualemployment.
