First StepPrior to installing theDLINK w/CPDLC Unit, we willconduct a survey to ensure the projectcreates minimum operational impact.During this phase we can ascertainwhich units are necessary to relocateto make way for the DLINK w/CPDLCUnit.The DLINK w/CPDLC Unit canbe installed on the left or righthand side in the centre pedestalaccording to customer selection.Crew access and usability isoptimal from either seat and is fullycompliant with the relevant sectionsof EASA CS25.www.eirtechaviation.ie8

Proposed LocationIllustrated here is one of our proposedlocations for the DLINK w/CPDLC Unit. Itcan be fitted in the mirror image on thefirst officer’s side. The Weather Radarcontrol panel (3SQ) and lighting controlpanel (117VU) have been placed behindthe Speed Brake Handle panel.These alternative locations are still easilyaccessible by the crew and will not haveany adverse effects on operationalprocedures. From an ergonomic view,having a single system unit on one sideonly is no different to the ATC andWeather Radar panels of which there areonly single control interfaces fitted.www.eirtechaviation.ieRemoved units new position,behind speed brake control.9

IntegrationThe addition of the DLINK w/CPDLC Unit will benefit in moreways than one. As it is also a standalone ACARS with it’s own integratedVHF radio, you no longer require thefollowing LRU’s; ATSU,ACARS MU orVHF 3 Transceiver. The DLINK w/CPDLC Unit will utilise the existingVHF antenna and interface with theother Avionics systems via ARINC 429data busses to obtain and provide allthe information for seamlessoperation.The wiring required for the systemintegration is routed along theexisting routes in the aircraft andcan be installed during a basemaintenance visit or over a shortseries of night stops.www.eirtechaviation.ie10

AttentionA simple illuminated annunciatorin front of each crew member willalert them to any incomingmessages.These will remain illuminated untilthe message has been actioned andacknowledged ensuring real timeco-operation between air crews andground stations.www.eirtechaviation.ie11

PositionIf you have an on-board dataloader similar to the unit pictured,we can position this out of the waybut still readily accessible tomaintenance crews for softwareloading etc. The DLINK w/CPDLC Unithas a standalone ethernet port toenable configuration and updating astime goes by.www.eirtechaviation.ie12
