EDITORIALEveryone’s success storyThe Annual ESADE Alumni Conferencestook place in Barcelona and Madrid atthe end of Januar y, becoming a truesuccess stor y, and a success belonging toall of us.The Prince and Princess of Asturias presidedat the Annual ESADE Alumni Conferencewhich was held at the Gran Teatre delLiceu in Barcelona, filled with over 2000alumni, the greatest par ticipation ever inthe Association’s histor y. Due to the stronginterest in attending the conference, thenumber of registrations received exceededthe capacity of the Liceo, and much toour dismay, not ever yone was able topar ticipate. The event featured inter ventionsfrom Jordi Hereu, Barcelona Mayor, andIsidro Fainé, President of la Caixa. Theconference was held in commemoration ofESADE’s first fifty years, under the mottoInspiring Futures, and the ESADE awardswere given to its founders: the Society ofJesus and the group of businessmen whowere promoters of the project.The Conference was heldto commemorate the fiftiethanniversary of ESADE, withthe motto ‘Inspiring Futures’The second Annual Conference in Madridwas the most significant ESADE networkingevent held in Madrid to date, gathering morethan 500 alumni, nearly twice the numberfrom last year. Par ticipating were ProfessorÁlex Rovira and Paloma Adrados, Councillorof Women and Employment from the Madridregional government.The content of this issue of our magazineis dedicated to these conferences, and youwill find an extensive summar y with manyphotos from the events, events which havenow become par t of our histor y. You will alsofind a summar y of ESADE Alumni’s GeneralAssembly, which took place Januar y 15th. Forthose of you who were unable to attend, weinclude a summar y of the Activity Repor t.You will be interested to learn about twonew projects which we present in thisissue, one from ESADE and the other fromESADE Alumni: the new Global ExecutiveMBA program (GEMBA), which ESADE haslaunched in conjunction with two schoolsat Georgetown University, the McDonoughSchool of Business and the School ofForeign Ser vice. And the agreement betweenRBA publishers and ESADE Alumni for thosealumni who have written or are intendingto write books of business narrative.
